What Rose is saying is all the plant matter eaten by livestock to get big and fat and turned into delicious food far outweighs the plant matter we'd need to eat if we were vegetarian. We burn an immense amount of resources - both food and otherwise - to raise our future steaks/bacon/etc.

Vegetarianism would, in effect, be better for the global ecology, and if everyone was vegetarian, we could support many more people's nutritional needs than we can right now.

But!

For me, despite knowing what I know, fuck vegetarianism. Beef > Celery.

Literally the only regret I have about vegetarianism is that despite never mentioning it unless someone else does (or if it's extremely relevant), I have encountered dozens of people who for some reason hate me for being such a stuck-up vegetarian jerk who's forcing my ideals on others.

I have actually invented a game where I'll see how many smarmy responses a single mention of vegetarianism can garner. Usually it's just the tried and tested "*describes various meat dishes* lol don't you want this?!!!!", but occasionally I see something on the scale of Cerion which I would frame if I could.
