For them it's a pay check and some much needed publicity to their sport. A lot of the time when these exibition matches come around, it's because there are so few women fighters, that the very best find it differcult to get matches. I'm sure it would hurt the female boxers ego if she lost to a common beer-belled thug, but she wouldn't lose peoples respect like a male fighter would if he lost to a female.

Ummm. Ooookay.
What about the last couple of posts I've made makes me misogynistic? Because I said men are stronger than women? That's just a fact, surely. I haven't said anything negative about women, just that in clips I've seen where female boxers/mixed martial artists fight against men, it's almost always highly skilled fighters, vs amateurs. 
To bastardize a quote, it's the subtle misogyny of lowered expectations.
