Computer issue: Itunes meets vista?
#1
Obviously it isn't my computer and I haven't walked down to look at the computer, but here's what I gathered:

Person A ripped music off of CD's and used iTunes to put the music on their MP3 player. In the midst of doing so, it crashed, or just shut off.

When attempting to turn it back on, it loads up but when they click something... it crashes or shuts off again.

When in Safe mode they cant run Avast, because they can't access the internet.

When in Safe made with Networking, and click something it crashes, or shuts off.

Anyone got a clue about this?

Teach "Person A" how to not put viruses on peoples' computer.

Okay...so it memory dumps when trying to use the internet and clicking on stuff. That's a deep infection. Like, really deep. The computer is crashing to prevent itself from sustaining severe damage. Only problem is that it acts like a coma does with a human. It can cause hard drive failure, bad sectors, corruption, etc etc. Dumb question, you do mean a blue screen right?

Maybe a failing power supply that is crashing when the power draw increases.

Also maybe a fan failure and the computer is doing it's protective shutdown to prevent heat damage.

That would suggest CPU/RAM/Motherboard heat problems. My GPU overheats and it just bugs out the monitor and/or fries like my old one. Never had heat problems with a hard drive so the safest route would be to add it to the list of possible heat issues.

The power supply theory sounds like the most valid idea though.

Could be a corrupted OS too.

That would most likely cause a blue screen wouldn't it?

Hmmm

Well I don't have any tools to do any kind of testing on hardware anymore...

I probably could actually walk over and see exactly what it's doing... But I don't like the drunken bastard(Shut up, don't say a damned word) that owns the computer, and I hate people that want to know what you're doing and why and shit every single second... especially when you explain it, more then once, and they still don't understand.

I do remember a similar case, of my stepbrother's laptop. It'd load up and if he clicked something before it was fully loaded up, it'd crash, or fuck up or something. Come to find out, he had a multitude of viruses and such.

But thinking about it, the computer that's messed up now, Person A had came over to use their iTunes and such because for some reason, Person A's computer wouldn't let them do it.

Perhaps Person A downloaded a fucked up virus hidden in a song file, and burnt it onto one of the CD's and when she ripped it onto the computer and used iTunes to put it on the mp3 player, but on doing so activated it or some shit...?

BTW isn't iTunes something related to iPod?

Any other suggestions on what the issue could be?

Not necessarily.

Check your flux capacitor and make sure it's still plugged into the camshaft. Sometimes a loose connection will throw error codes. Tighten up the connection and ensure the PCM is still live (a little red light on the housing will confirm this), and then just reboot. It might not work but it's the easiest fix if it does.

... Isn't a Flux capacitor that thing in Back to the Future?\

And isn't a camshaft a part of a car?

Anyways... the computer doesn't crash, it shuts off like normal. They seem to be able to mess around on it now, but it just shuts off at random now it seems...

I bet it is the Flux Capacitor. I had trouble with mine a couple weeks ago, and had to get a new one. I kept trying to open google maps, but it kept saying "Error 2015: Where we're going, we don't need roads."

That's because you probably didn't have your fan up to 88mph, it's a common problem.

Yeah, I think my power supply was overheating because of the fan thing. I guess that's what happens when you buy a 1.21 jigawatt power supply.

What you need to get is a Mr. Fusion accessory, it will solve all your problems.

It's just a dialect. It's the same thing; just different regional flair, like 'color' and 'colour' or how we say 'semi' and Brits say 'lorry' or whatever.
