I don't really know where all these 'whateva, I do what I want' answers are coming from.

I'm exaggerating slightly in my posts, I'll admit. My thoughts on the issue have already been pretty much summed up by some of the other staffers, but I'll state them anyway:

Yes, absolutely, if someone is banning you excessively just for kicks or harassing you for no very good reason, then you should contact someone else on the moderation team and ask that something be done about it. This goes for abuses of mod power in general.

However, I don't think that this (the ChatBox privileges) needs to have some sort of institutionalized oversight - which seems to be what some people are asking for, here. It's the ChatBox. Ultimately, it's a very minor part of the site. Anyone that simply can't stand to not have the ChatBox for the few days (at most!) it would require to fix the issue should probably take a deep breath, step away from the computer, and go for a walk.

As to the "suck it up" part: try to remember that dicking around with people has been something that Chubbs mods have done in the past, with things ranging from the occasional embarrassing user title to changing avatars and/or sigs to something with an MSPaint penis spraypainted on it. Sometimes it sucks, but it kind of comes with the territory. (Haven't seen too much of it recently, though.)

This was meant as a serious question, btw. After reading it again, I see where it could inevitably be seen as me being sarcastic.

All I can really say is that basically if someone does it, then yeah, you have to wait until another staffer undoes it and handles the situation. I don't know how else to address that. The other solutions are "Only Josh can ban someone from the ChatBox" which as mentioned is a bit over extreme for something that is merely added just as an additional feature and half the time doesn't work anyway. Or "Give members the ability to unban people" which, I'm sorry if anyone gets their feelings hurt here, will not be happening.

I've personally had an issue long ago.. with Staff members and players. I didn't like how players pretend or mocked staffers...


I have heard BBJ getting blocked or whatever a few times... I initially thought it was Chatbox... but maybe it wasn't.

I know people do it to him as a joke and shit, nut i dont find it that funny.

I ssay I dont find it funny... because of the following: If someone randomly bans me from chatbox.... i loose most of all course of the Site... Why? Because I hardly ever check the OOC boards and IM banned from your Mature forum... No that I give a flying fuck about it for the simple reason that porn and what ever dumbeness you post there is pure fucking stupid..... In my honest opinion.

I find set staffers biased... ANd I dont care who you are... you are biased someway and how... If you can control it Welll thats to be seen...

That's actually the worst answer i've heard, ever. So if a staffer does something as a joke and the member doesn't think it's funny, they have to suck it up. But if a member does something they think is funny, but staff thinks is offensive and rude, they get warned or scolded or whatnot? That's basically the gist of it?

It's the chatbox. If you get banned from it, even if you said something unintentionally risky, you don't act as if your Nelson fucking Mandela.
