The Like/Hate Thread
hate: that my WoW account got hacked.
Like: that the douche who did it tried to change my password again 8 hours ago after I sat on the phone with blizz for over an hour, and I ended up changing it again and changed my email. That should thwart them for a bit until my authenticator comes.

You wouldn't rather read stories? That's like a textbook of Batman.

Looks like an awesome resource to me, I'd definitely read that book. It's going to have lots of background you might have missed elsewhere.

That being said, there are some graphic novels you should pick up too if you're really interested in Batman. The stories are really the best ways to get to know the characters - obvious, but true.

The Dark Knight Returns - Frank Miller's work in which it was his "job to give Batman his balls back." Which he did.
The Dark Knight Strikes Back - Sequel to The Dark Knight Returns
The Long Halloween - awesome story, huge book
Batman: Hush - this is just a fantastic read, and totally worth it to see Batman and Supes throw down.
Batman: The Killing Joke - big Joker story
Batman: No Man's Land - There are eight books in this series I think, but it is pretty epic
Batman: R.I.P - more recent book, crazy story. Very cool.
Batman: A Death in the Family - the tragic tale of Jason Todd
Final Crisis - Reading this now, and it's awesome
and then it looks like the Batman follow ups to Final Crisis are
Batman: Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader? and
Batman: Battle For the Cowl

and buy from Amazon cause it's cheap as hell. I dropped about $50 on a couple hardcover books the other day and as I was looking on Amazon I found I could have picked up one more companion book to what I bought for about the same price had I used Amazon. Grrrrrrr.

That should be a good place to start looking around and those are all excellent stories.

Hate: Liverpool losing AGAIN. Losing money on bets, especially one which with further thought I realised probably wasn't a good bet, but at that point it was too late to cancel. Generally just been a very frustrating crappy day.

Sorry, I knew that. I was making a joke about the freezer Pepsi thing really. I haven't seen anyone do that in a long time.

Nice, thanks very much.

Like/Hate: I'm playing Arkham Asylum last night and I get to a certain point, then the screen goes funny colours, the sound stops playing and it goes to a black screen. I shit myself, thinking the disc is screwed (because the game's been on or paused for ~8 hours at this stage.) I start it up today, and it turns out that's SUPPOSED to happen. It's pretty damn clever, but it also gave me a damn scare.

Haha, that reminds me of my reaction to Metal Gear Solid 2, only your fears are probably more valid. Raiden's running around naked and weird shit starts happening. Bad times.

Hate: My on-board audio is creating clicks like it's being interrupted by dust. Sounds exactly like dust does on an old stereo volume knob. FUCK.

Hate: I liked Slumdog Millionaire. Wanted to hate it so much.

What's it like on a scale of 1-10?

I should watch it again. It honestly didn't look like a bad film, but I was upset that I was forced to watch it by/with my aunt, and the disc I made was skipping and shit during the last 10 minutes or so. The Wrestler was still the best movie of 08, though.

Translation: Waff's kitchen is being redone and I'm taking advantage of the distractions and escaping the kitchen!

Othello: Yeah, well, its rough ground to tread. I actually do NOT want to truly offend someone with the jokes, even if it seems otherwise. Anything I say is with the understanding that it will be perceived as exactly that, nothing more than a joke, so I gotta be careful when I choose to do so or not do so.
