The Like/Hate Thread
And you can always drive through there and identify the drug dealers and thieves. They are the ones living in the low income housing with brand new Mercedes with huge ass rims. A vehicle that costs more a month than their rent, but they can prove they "make less than ____" according to what's not under the table or a drug exchange. They love their under the table too "Fucking gov aint taking my money, I earn dat money" and ignoring that they are receiving checks from said government from people that DO have taxes taken out that also earn their money.

I don't. I'm pretty much exclusive to arygos. EDIT: and I don't do PvP realms, either. Fuck that.

What the hell is a gearscore.

Why is the game not over at level 80.

And because after you get to 80, you can get fantastic gear, new raids/dungeons are available, basically, its an e-peen measurement contest after that. And you can farm shit for your alts, because by this time, you'll probably have a few.

EDIT: I'm going to admit, I have a bunch floating around, enough to make Emily go "Daaaayumm!".

Quote:“This will definitely echo around the halls of Viacom in New York,” said Don Harris, executive VP of distribution for Paramount on Sunday, shortly after it was announced that “Paranormal Activity” would lead the weekend box office with $22 million.

Harris’ jubilation was understandable.

Set to further expand its run this weekend from 1,945 locations to around 2,400, and having grossed $65.1 million through Wednesday on a sub-$15,000 production budget, “Paranormal” has already exceeded the film it is most often compared to, “The Blair Witch Project,” as the most profitable movie of all time.

Because that entirely defies the entire point of the game? Its not a leveling contest to hit 80 and see a screen saying "You Have Won The Game!" with a cheerful trumpet in the background and then you close it out.

The "point" of the game? The only point of an MMO is to be able to play through content with multiple people. Leveling is part of that content. That's why people spend hours raiding to get better equipment so they're better at raiding. That's also why some people simple hit 80 with a character and then abandon it to make a new one and start the whole process over.

Yes. I agree here. But I don't see where the comment has any validity. "Leveling is part of that content". Yes, its is PART of that content. The point is to provide a lot of content so that people can play and enjoy any amount of it that they desire to, be it just leveling to 80, or hitting 80 + raiding + getting world firsts, or even achievement farming or sitting there playing the Auction House. Its for people of all sorts of play styles.

So if hitting 80 was, as Jack alluded, what should be "the end of the game", then only those who play just to hit level caps would have gotten what they wanted from it. That DOES sidestep the point of the game (addressing a broader audience than that) as well as another point of the game (providing content to keep people subscribing).

Hate: I've been trying to buy my co-workers car for like two weeks now, and every time I set a day to go to the loan place to finalize things, I end up not hearing from him that day. He doesn't call me, doesn't answer texts or calls, doesn't show up, anything. Then I see him later in the week and he says his phone messed up or something. Yes, but that still doesn't mean to not call me just because you didn't hear from me first. Same thing happened today, and now its time for work hours, so I had to call and beg them to extend the special "until Oct 31" rate that we had tried for through the first week of November since we can't finalize anything without him being there. I looked on Facebook and saw that he'd posted something around 10am, so I know what happened. He's back to playing WoW again lately, so he likely "screwed his sleep schedule up again" like he always says. I bet he got up around 6am, played WoW or something, decided to "take a nap" around 11am, and then slept all day - and suddenly while I'm calling work to find out if I'm needed, I get two texts from him just now saying "Shit. What time do they close?"

XD No problem with that.

But yeah, I feel the concern would hold validity if not for the fact that its looking at a tiny part of said content and judging the entirety around it (I can likely word that better, but not really analytically focused at the moment.)

So work gets back to me while I'm on the phone with the guy that's supposed to head out to the loan office with me. Work says "Hey, you are server standby today, so can you come in? Because a server called in, so one of the bussers asked to switch to serving for the person that called in, so we need someone to fill in for that busser. Do you mind?"

Ok, if this was a weekday, where the busser's hourly + tipout is likely to be more than the server, I would. But seriously? "Do you mind not being server since a server called in and you'd make 80-100, and instead come be sushi bar busser today for four hours of hourly plus around 35 in tipout?"

How can you seriously expect me to take a voluntary paycut just because the actual busser wants to serve and get more money from it? Like I said, if it were a weekday, that'd be a different story. I asked them if there were any alternatives - so now I'm going to go deal with this car shit and let them handle it. I wanted to work today, but I also wanted to actually make money, since I'm a server, as a server standby, who is supposed to come in to work for servers that call in sick serving. Not to let a busser take that spot and then have me bus. Fuck that.

Love: Dana came to 'warn' me today. This time apparently one of AD's affiliates is totally using the forum's name to get away with evil stuff and trashing our reputation.

(read: he probably got banned from another site that happened to be our affiliate)

Rose: I just looked on one of your affiliate sites and saw a large amount of discussion about Dana and someone getting hacked and Dana "riding Alex's dick" or something. In the chatbox I mean.

I'm assuming that's the site you are referring to or are posting in. Someone said "Warn Greg about Dana if you get a chance" or something to that effect.
