I am currently doing extensive testing on Dragon Age along with Cerion. I'm like five hours in now and it still feels like I've barely started.

Ended up getting PC. It looks like crap, but it will run at minimum settings on my computer.

I hadn't even heard of it until it was mentioned it in this thread. After watching a video review, it definately looks like the kind of thing I'd enjoy. I guess I'll add it to the ever growing list of games I would like to play in the next few months.

I hadn't really paid attention to it until a couple of weeks ago, at which point I turned into an information scavenger the likes of which I haven't been since the Smash Bros Brawl pre-release cockteasing.

I really like the combat, the way death/injuries are handled, etc. There's also a LOT more room for roleplaying a certain type of character unlike, say, Mass Effect which was "do you want to be a selfless hero or an evil thug?" Bioware have specifically stated that they try not to give an explicit intention behind your character's dialogue choices, meaning you can be nice to people as just being a normal nice guy, or you can pretend it's manipulation and later backstab them all when you don't need them or whatever. Makes it much more viable to stick to a character concept. So far, I'm having a lot of fun with my goodhearted-but-reckless-and-easily-tempted-to-corruption warrior.

This game can be summed up in 1 word: Brutal. Even the smallest task seem to have some extreme far-fetched brutal solution.

Human Warrior Noble here. Playing an essentially good-hearted but slightly selfish and naive nobleman. I always run basic human/fighter first time in these things.

To be honest, mages are basic as well. It's much easier being a mage because they combined the traditional 'priest', 'druid' and 'mage' all into one. Essentially your mage can learn to shapeshift into a bear to be a tanker, go out and heal himself and then blow something up. It was also the reason I made my rogue.

Only about 2 hours into the game, though. It's very... intense so far. The game is just so... full of stuff. Not very descriptive, I know.

But yeah, I noticed in the pre-release that Mages have a TON more spells to pick from, and overall opportunity for variation, than the other classes. It sucks that there's only two NPC mages, really (especially since I'll probably end up killing one or the other) and that there's only one origin for them. I know my second guy is gonna be a buffer type with some arcane warrior spec.
