The way rotations work, for those that don't know, is that you'll only have access to 10 champions per week. The 10 that are available change each week. In the thread I linked a few posts back, they listed which champions will be available for the first four weeks.

For example, Jax (a Melee DPS champion) will be available to everyone for the first week, but is not in the rotation for the second week. So, if Jax is my favorite champion, I'll be able to just pick him during that first week of play, but I'd have to try a different champion come week two.

Fortunately, it is possible to buy an "unlock" for each champion. So if, using the above example, I decide I really like Jax after playing him, once that second rotation hits, I can go into the shop and unlock Jax by spending IP (IP is earned for playing games) so that I can use him whenever I want. Once you purchase the unlock for a champion, you will always have access to them.

While this may seem like a great idea, to just go and start unlocking champions, Runes will also need to be purchased, and those are going to play a huge role in the game. So it would be a good idea to keep an eye on the rotation lists and see when the champions you like are going to be playable for free. That way you can spend IP on Runes.

In Vad's case, for example, I know that he likes playing Katarina and Morgana. If you check the rotation lists, you'll see that Katarina is free in the second week and Morgana will be free in the third week. My suggestion to Vad, in this case, would be to play someone new (or someone he only kinda likes) for the first week, then switch to Katarina in the second week, and finally Morgana in the third. By doing this, he can spend his money on Runes in the first three weeks and then have plenty to unlock someone he wants to use from the fourth week on.

The other thing to keep in mind is when a free champion overlaps with a champion you've already unlocked. Using Jax again, let's say I go and unlock him because I love me some Jax. That's all well and good when he's not in the rotation, but once he is there's a good chance that you'll have to be lightning fast with your champion selection. While you may have been using him for a while, other people may only use the free champions, or may not have been playing long enough to bought any of their own unlocks.

And now I'm done with this. This is probably all information that everyone already knew, but I was bored and this kept me mildly entertained for a few minutes.

EDIT: And no, Vad, Morgana will be in the third rotation. They refer to each week as a single rotation.

Also, people who pre-ordered or bought retail copies of the game will have more than 10 champions unlocked per rotation. I think they get, like, 20 unlocked at a time. I dunno, someone can correct me on that if they want.

I like Tryn more every time I play him. Seriously, he lets me do the crazy, generally stupid, shit I'm used to and still make it out alive most of the time.

That and 10 stacks of Bloodlust will rape anyone. Doesn't matter who.

I can't download so im stuck with browser games. Must places I go or visit have started to block or not allow downloads including all the fun game son the net. the only place I might be able to do this is at my families house o a rare occasion.
