Anybody else doing the cooking this year? I started like 5PM yesterday, went to sleep at midnight, woke up at 5 and couldn't go back to sleep, and instead of just getting up then and doing the other shit I tried to fall asleep for 2 and a half hours. Ending up not falling asleep obviously. What I'm doing:
Ham (baked I guess?)
Turkey
Potato Salad
Stuffing (we call it "dressing" here and cook it aside from the turkey)
my aunt is going to do some greens and macncheese I guess. Hopefully there will be some epic family drama this year, and I might make like a toast/announcement thing telling everybody I'm going to join the military just to push everybody over the edge. Should be fun!

My wife's a sous chef. I...I just tried to stay out of the way.
Anyone else not celebrating it with family? Steph and I estranged ourselves from our families a long time ago, so we're just eating with a few other couples with similar situations.

mmmmI got like to many people about to invade my house wanting food. So Im staying locked in my room playing guitar and dragon age all day. I left strict orders for my food to be left at the my door with two knocks and a owl call.

I would have loved to cook this year, but instead, we're going over to some friends house who's cooking, and I'll help out there. I'll prolly do christmas dinner instead. Should be fun. Probably won't overeat this time since I'm away from my family, and they all have a tendency to make every fucking thing you can think of at thanksgiving and expect you to eat it all and not leave leftovers. Should be easier to not gain weight this year.=\

there was a small dinner here last night, cuz most of them are doing other things today. i've been combating all holidays for the better part of the last decade so nobody even bothered to try to get me to join in. every such holiday is a major victory in my book, so this war looks to be almost won.

We already ahd our little thanksgiving dinner and it was exciting. I actually came out of my man cave and participated instead of staying locked up.

So instead of going over my sis's I fell asleep and now I'm here. I called my other sister though and I'm excited to see them so I've been renewed! And I'm done cooking so now my grandmother can stop instructing me on every little detail like I'm retarded, and I have no reason to be in the kitchen while my aunt is in there. Who I have dubbed the Ice Queen. She seriously pulled the "this oven is filthy, you should clean it" bit on Thanksgiving. While I was cooking.

I know how ridiculously corny this sounds, but for all the headaches and AIM-related aneurysms I've had over the years, I'm thankful for the people who have kept this community alive for as long as it has been.
