League of Legends
Yeah, the jungler can pop out and help. The jungler can keep up in XP. The jungler can use the buffs to their advantage. But they never do.

Losing a 1v2 lane -- no matter how careful you're being -- is roughly 186 times more likely than getting a good jungler. You can stand by and, very carefully, watch the other team drop your tower.

Well that's just like saying someone who rushes in and dies constantly. Just because people do it badly doesn't mean it should be done. Yes, it's rare that people do it well but it's rare people do it to begin with, so there's no surprise there.

Both occurrences are rare, yes, but not in the same proportions. Of all the junglers, let's say 10% of them know what they're doing. The other 90% of them are idiots (which shouldn't be surprising). Those idiots end up costing their team a lane, a handful of 1v2 ganks, and provide no benefit.

If you see a hundred junglers, 90 of them will ruin the game. That's not worth it. I think that absolutely means it shouldn't be done. Especially when the idiots see the very, very rare good jungler and then think they can do it themselves.

But it's no different to ordinary lane retards and is a viable tactic with people that know what they're doing. That said I mostly play with people who know what they're doing, but it's hard to lead a discussion where the error margin is based solely on people who join the games from all sorts of varied locations. That said, watch out what you wish for in games. A friend of mine called mid instead of an Ashe because he was Sivir (Sivir is clearly superior in any and all ways in mid) and the Ashe and another member of the team just smashed their way into the turrets/enemy champions to ruin the game. My friend still won the game, but was close call.

I'm not wishing for anything. To say that 90% of the people who play online games are idiots seems like a reasonable estimate, in my opinion.

Yes, theoretically jungling can work. I've never said otherwise. Practically, I would rather have that other person actually in the lane.

I honestly don't. Regardless it would balance out in League of Legends then. 90% is such a huge percentage that the teams should even each other out and not cause a problem.

You're right.

We can agree to disagree.

Out of curiosity, have you seen people be successful at jungling with anyone other than Warwick?

One of the staff members of Riot is an infamous Junglesticks, since his life drain can easily net him the early buffs, but that's about all champions besides Udyr I can come up with.

Fiddle, Udyr and Shaco are all proficient junglers. Warwick is out of the world with jungling, he was built to be a jungling character. Life Drain, Udyr's Stances and Shaco's JITB are all amazing skills for the jungle. Plus Fiddle, Shaco and Warwick are all stealth heroes that mean to jump out to secure a kill so jungling really ties in with their game style.

Although I've seen a lot of really strong jungling Shacos, and I main Shaco, but it is not necessarily my favorite variation of Shaco gaming.

I've seen some people use the JitB with surprising efficiency. I never thought about it, myself.

I don't think Heim could produce the same results.

Heim is definitely not a jungler, but can hold off a lane fairly well, even without turrets.

Shaco's JitB can only work to get one single buff and that's golem, so calling him a jungler would be a terrible waste. The JitB don't attack more than 1 neutral minion so you basically gotta put them out of sight and then make them attack the golem, afterwards they don't do anything and just wait to die. Shaco's other abilities doesn't help him for shit in jungling either seeing as popping Deceive will cause the mob to reset and that's effectively the only ability he can pop every so often to aid him in a fight without wasting major chase cooldowns (or just down right wasting abilities for the sake of wasting abilities).

Other than getting the buff at start, I've yet to see any Shacos do real jungling.

Haha, the jungling discussion again. I agree with you, Eric, but you're arguing a lost cause here.

I absolutely hate to start a game and see that someone has picked Warwick on my team. These motherfuckers almost always pick Warwick with the mindset that "WARWICK=JUNGLING=RAAAPE", and then the rest of us are like fighting our asses off in the lanes, losing turrets and shit, and then even though this Warwick guy might end up hella buffed and levelled and shit, by the time he decides to start playing the real fucking game, we're already on the fast track to losing.

And then they'll kill a champ and go "OOOOOH FUCK YEAH!!!!!!" and it's just like "dude, we don't have any inhibitors left, we are about to lose", to which they won't reply because they're FUCKING morons.

Junglers are the fucking worst.

Just saw the exception to the rule. Had a Warwick jungle but he actually paid attention to the lanes and did damn well. 22 kills.

Like I said before, I've never argued that it doesn't work in theory. There are the rare players who can do it.

However, I would rather have no one do it than deal with the overwhelming majority of people who do it poorly.

I'm on your side. Just thought I'd say that I saw a good one, since it's the equivalent of finding Mew.

Soraka = GG.

So I got into queue with a good friend on my smurf account, my friend picked Nunu and our team had Trist, Ashe and Yi. Right off the bat I was like... Fuck we're screwed, so I intended to fuck around since I was on smurf, so I picked Soraka. And man was that the best choice ever. First time playing Soraka against a team composed of lvl 25+. My smurf is level 11 and has no runes, and I fucking ripped it. My team praised me, the opposing team was all like "If it wasn't for Soraka you guys would be fucked." I literally saved 30 lives throughout the entire game and limited the opposing team to only 10 kills in Early game where people were all laning. Soraka is da bawz

2-3-19

Soraka's healing is impossibly disgusting.. Straight up.

Who says supports can't carry a fucking team? I just did suckaaaaaaz!

Wow, I thought Soraka was weakened in a patch when it was still in beta. I'll have to give her another go.

I agree with carries though. I love playing Taric. His heals are decent, he can stun and break his armour buff to do damage, and his ult lets him tank turrets by himself. He's pretty sweet.
