I really need to move...
#1
So I am a Michigander (From the great State of Michigan) and live in the beautiful city of Lansing, but recently I have been spurned to move.

On Thursday a women was killed in my Apartment complex, knifed to death in her own home. http://www.wilx.com/news/headlines/90277362.html

I wasn't really sure if I was just being paranoid, but I was getting fidgety.

So then I wake up this morning to find six police cars and three ambulances outside my window. I'm not sure yet if its another murder but it certainly looks like it.

What do you think? Should I get the hell out of here, or am I just being paranoid?

One time i lived in an apartment where a hooker came in rubbing her slit wrists against the walls in the entrance and almost died there. We also found a dead body on the floor below, a strange smell had been coming from the suite, the guy had fallen into an overdose from drugs with his mattress against the heater and he had pretty much cooked to death. Oh yeah and there was a fire once too.

We had little choice, but i dunno, i was young so it kind of went over my head I guess? I wasn't paranoid, but i can understand why you would be. If you're scared enough, and apartments arent hard to come by, move. I just keep bats by my door and always keep my door locked, and i dont let anyone in my place unless they're family or my bf.

Yeah, I keep my machete close at hand. I did that even before this happened.

Since I've lived here, this complex has had three overdoses, one of them fatal, six arrest for car theft, one arrest for soliciting a prostitute, four drug busts, a murder, and a suicide. Oh yeah, and seven domestic abuse calls.

You want to know how long I've been here?

Four months....

That definitely sounds like overkill.

But yeah, that's definitely an... interesting situation. I would be slightly freaked out, myself.

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

I would not stick around if moving is a feasible option.

OH me too! Although I keep it in my car, but while I'm driving I can reach it discreetly.... I'm prone to picking up hitchhikers. Maybe I should get a gun instead.

... what was the topic again?

Seconded. Sounds like it attracts all sorts of human filth.

... present company excluded, of course. =x

Sounds like a change of scenery wouldn't hurt, if at all possible.

I don't pick up hitchhikers.

That's a bad plan. XD

I did get into a bad accident once and then became an impromptu hitchhiker. But that wasn't really by choice; they wouldn't let me walk because apparently they were scared I'd 'fall down.'

They were cute, too. I'm so choked I was too out of it to, like, do or say anything.
