I hope you don't mind if we continue it here, 'cause I'm a WoW nerd, and like a WoW nerd, I like to talk about WoW.

Kazuya Wrote:Im stockpiling frosts, but I'm getting bored of the paladin, tbh. I've pretty much perfected my rotation, and I'm at the point where my gearscore is high enough to get into doing ICC 10, but no one wants me because my gearscore is less than 5k in game, and like, almost 2.5k on wow-heroes, when most want almost close to 3k. it sucks. I've been in there before, and did perfectly fine up until the group fell apart at Saurfang. My dps was awesome, but there were still a few asshats. I've definitely got my eye on replacing the cloak next with http://www.wowhead.com/item=50467 that. And maybe get a few more trinks, but ones I got are pretty awesome. Especially the Nevermelting ice. Activate that baby, and damn near every strike is a crit. its beautiful.

EDIT: I was writing this before you posted, Mario. My bad.

Most people on my server want 5.2k gs min, which sucks. My warrior is at 5.3k (might be 5.4k now, but idk), and I personally thing the gs system is pretty stupid. The principle is nice, but people use it like it is a god, and over-hype requirements.

I was wondering why you were using nevermelting ice, but I guess that makes sense if there is no alternative. I never thought about it giving universal crit, to be honest.

Your expertise is like, freakishly low though, girl. It'd probably raise your dps hundreds, if not a thousand, if that was at 26 instead of 8.

Been working on it, as well. I upgraded my chest and dropped to below hit cap, I was overcapped at around 318ish, and had crazy low exp. But its a pain in the ass trying to balance it out lol. I need to get some more money though and get more enchants on some peices that I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. But my thing is, I'm perpetually broke, only a few hundred gold at any time, usually.

Mining at 450, and engineering at 405. I'm thinking of dropping engineering though, its a pain in the ass to level and does nothing for me. I only wanted it for the bike.

Yeah. Engineering isn't reall that good for money making, but rocket boots are the awesomesauce.

If you drop it I think something that has a daily would be a good idea for you. I do that, personally. Jewelcrafting has a daily that allows you to get one dragoneye a day, which sells for 100 gold or more on all servers, or so I think. That's easy to do, and it has a steady income.

I TRY to do the daily heroic on three toons a day, although sometimes I don't end up doing them at all. Two of my characters have jewelcrafting, so that's a free 200 gold a day. Two of my toons are also enchanting, so odds are I'll make a little extra money off the heroic.

This is my main, he hit 80 a month or so ago.

I'm currently working towards getting 100% armor pen, and he's at almost 70%

Aside from how retarded GS is, where do you go or whatever to figure your score out? You know, so you can be 2000 points above the actual requirements of the instance or find yourself kicked.

It's an addon.

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

So its a required addon by pretty much everyone on the server, yet offers absolutely zero actual benefit (dps meter, boss mod, etc) other than to help random people have yet another excuse to kick someone out of a group that the LFG tool put together because they DID meet the requirements to make the group? A tool created to help the people that know nothing about another class pretend to know anything about the other class's gear?

I think my favorite story was when a friend of mine ran a PUG the other day, got together a group based around the GS requirements, and despite everyone having sufficient GS to run the instance, one guy was adamant that they couldn't run the Heroic because "dude, the noob has a blue! A blue! I'm not going to carry him!" My friend was like "... He more than meets the requirements for this instance, and Heroics are where you gear up." "BUT HE HAS A BLUE! *Links repeatedly in chat* I'm not carrying him!" (The guy was decked in 25 ToC gear otherwise) The guy in question was a healer, and the other asshole ended up dropping from the group after telling everyone off for not kicking the healer. They replaced him quickly, and then cleared the Heroic with zero deaths.

EDIT: Actually, I'm sorry, just realized what I did. It was a green, not a blue. A green trinket, which sometimes ARE better than blue trinkets and are also fairly rare to upgrade. Got my colors swapped around in my head for some reason.

I also realized how little help I was.

Yeah, I thought about seeing what was up, but my accounts are all off right now. And the people on the Chubbs server aren't GS fags.

I think the idea behind GS was a good one, and had the best intentions. You could, without actually looking at a persons gear, find out if they were good enough, gear wise, for a instance. Skill comes into play, but I mean, you shouldn't be running ICC in Nax gear.

But people abuse it. I had a friend who tanked VOA with a 4.3k gs. He almost got pwned constantly, but he did it. On my server you need at least 5.4k to get into a voa.

that's gay voa is where you are supposed to get geared, whats the point if you have near max gear.

That's exactly the complain I put forth. Its a place where you can go in with all blues and quest gear and still tank, heal, or dps perfectly fine. I've done it. You go there to get gear.

But now people insist on you basically being geared up with equal level gear to what drops in there or "they aren't carrying your nub ass"

I hate pugs, most of the time. But I gotta say, when they're good, they're good. Actually had a really awesome pug for the weekly against Malygos in EoE a week or so ago with a nice group. Which is surprising because all groups previously that I've been in wiped continuously like a fat man after a massive dump.

Gearscore isn't retarded; it's the people that use it.

I was literally #1 DPS on bosses and overall on an ICC25 pug, and was booted after the first wing for having "too low GS."

I mean, raid leader's prerogative and all that, but maybe he should have been looking at the Hunters with 5.5k gearscore doing 3k dps than at the 5k gearscored DK doing 9k.

My 80 shaman: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet...e&cn=Yuula

Still need to replace her trinkets, neck and cloak. Also get a non-PVP relic.
