Hate: The phrases, used in a work setting, "touch base" and "moving forward" as in "We'll have a touch base later." and "Moving forward we will..." I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE this workplace jargon. I am currently working in retail, which makes it extra annoying. We handle clothing and shoes, nobody needs to "touch base" and nothing is "moving forward" we can have a conversation, get caught up, chat or things can happen from now in, in the future, next time, from here on out or statements can be made without that qualification. Argh.

@Kami: Execu-speak is so bad at my job that the guys on the floor - including myself - have turned it against the management.

Now, a frequent answer to 'what are you doing right now' is 'I've got a few things on the go, but what do you need?' It's amusing, because they're suddenly unsure if they can get you to do something or not. The split-second of abject terror is delightful.

'Moving forward' is something that still makes me want to kill people, though.
