Love: the cozy warmth you get for an hour or so after a hard run. Plus the chemicals your brain pumps out. Mmmm, chemicals ...

I used to call that glow of heat my heat shield. This was when I was 8 or 9 and I could run and gun worth a damn.

I especially like the feeling that follows a long run on a treadmill, like the world around you is in slow motion, lol.

Rod Hardwood Wrote:for anyone playing sc2 beta as zerg: burrowed banelings can be set to autocast

essentially, they work as spidermines ala original starcraft. burrow, autocast, then they pop up as soon as an enemy unit gets close. there's a lot of talk about how boring zerg gameplay is, but apparently people just haven't discovered all the tricks the swarm has now :O

The baneling thing has been in effect for quite some time, from what I know. I knew about it a while back, anyway. The only reason I don't try to zerg more is just that I am very slow to build with them, entirely due to macro reasons. I just haven't had the patience for it. I've seen been trying to adjust for Toss and their new "Chrono Boost" system. Terran have more or less been the same which is good and bad. I love the new Toss units though. Toss are really fun to play right now.

I haven't played the beta, but is SC2 the kind of game one could have fun playing 'casually'? I heard they put in the new matchmaking stuff which should make that possible, then I heard it basically didn't do its job. I enjoyed WC3 but it took a ton of practice to get to the point where I could have any fun, and I was still pretty shite compared to the vast majority of players.

I won't be specific, but I hate that I feel so helpless. It's like I'm waiting for something to happen that might not. It's...tiring.

The cure is a shotgun, the cure is whatever blunt instrument one can salvage.Whomever finds themselves too proper will be the first to perish. And you know nothing that matters now.

I hate who I am sometimes. Christ.

I hate that the more I write this post the more I get frustrated. It's just pissing me off for some reason, to the point where I've crushed several cans that have been on my desk.

Hate: in martial arts today I had to wrestle some dude who's been there for like two years. Me having had three lessons and pretty much nothing in terms of ground work, he decided nonetheless to not hold back at all so it was pretty much me getting taken down repeatedly which gives me a chance to learn nothing. Furthermore he somehow injured my knee so now I can't run or do squats until it heals. Thanks a lot, you fucking moron.

bleach

to compare it to a soap opera, it was like some guy revealing that he was a secret agent out to save the world but he's currently being hunted to the death by his own family, only to be interrupted by five eyepatch-festooned evil twin brothers walking into the room one after another.

I thought I was being funny one time after a good run to just start jumping off and on the threadmill. Then I lost my grip.

I never saw the wall coming.

Hate that I just realized Romeo and Juliette must be the most retarded love story ever.

The ranking system works pretty well, although depending on how good/bad you are you will probably take a beating. They keep resetting the rankings so they can continue to test things out, and in this last reset I did the five ranking matches and got stomped until the last one, which I was able to win albeit barely with a last ditch effort.

After getting thrashed in the ranking matches it tossed me into the copper league with people who had similar if not the same record and off I went. I don't know exactly how the matchmaking works, but at that point I was playing against people who were either a little better than me, or a little worse and I've managed to move up and have some success in the ladder.

I would say I've been fairly casual about it, although I can be a competitive little crud, I don't play every day and have gone several days without touching the game. It still manages to be fun playing multiplayer, but if you are trying to move up in the brackets you'd probably want to be on there every day grinding away trying to get better and improve your ranking.

TLDR: Yes, the ranking works so that a casual player can hop on and play a few games within his skill range after the ranking matches are finished.
