Tip glasses don't mean you have to tip. When you go to a restaurant and there is a tip-line on the check, then you have to tip.

I've forgotten to tip twice since coming back to the states, luckily my friend reminded me before i walked out the store.

My nice guy tendencies leave me with nothing in my wallet. I left a 20 once. I didn't regret it, but still. I tipped the cute chick that cuts my hair a 10 before. She had to double take and ask me if I was sure. XD

Like: DragonBall Evolution. Don't get me wrong, it was truly terrible in just so many ways. But I found myself enjoying it regardless of the poor quality.

I tip almost every time I eat out at resturants, unless the waiters have been extremely crappy. I make a point to watch and see how busy the resturant is, if the waiter is working a lot of tables and helping out in the back I make it a point to tip extra. I know the kind of people you're talking about Ashe and those mofos suck donkey testies.

Saz...I freaking hope you liked it because of the cleavage. If you like anything else in it I will kill you. I will hunt you down and kill you.

I hate when people look at you like you just kicked a baby when you DON'T put something in a tip jar, though. It's like... shit... they're being paid to do what they're doing. I'm not automatically going to give you extra money because you're doing a job.

I feel bad but I don't tip a lot...I'm poor enough as it is, but then again, I don't go out to restaurants a lot so maybe it's different...

Like if a pizza guy delivers a $30.00 order I tip 2.00. Thats just my budget.

Victoria: A GPA is a grade-point average (an average of my grades). It's out of 4.

Fucking Hate: A friend of mine and a friend of his were killed in a car accident about 20 hours ago. I saw the kid just a few days before he had left for the summer, and we'd agreed to hang out more this coming semester... Ugh, I'm 21, my colleagues shouldn't be dying.

And my best friend's grandmother, the coolest grandmother outside of my own, is dying of cancer and only has a week to four weeks to live. I rarely use this abbreviation, but seriously: FML.

My point is that they don't deserve it. People in Australia don't get paid minimum wage like Americans do. Sure the money isn't awesome as a Subway sandwich maker, but it's not supposed to be. You're either young and getting work experience or paying your way through university.

I'd normally agree with that sentiment, however; it turns out that in the states you guys actually have states where people can be paid below minimum wage if they work in a service industry where tips are allowed.

Quote:Laws in the states of Alaska, California, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington require all employees to be paid at least minimum wage. However, it is still customary to give standard tips in those places. Elsewhere, wage laws allow employers to credit an amount of earned tips against the minimum wage, allowing them to pay tipped employees less than minimum wage. As of September 2009, this reduction can be as low as $1.45 per hour in West Virginia, or as high as 100% in Virginia, reducing potential wages to $5.80 or $0 per hour, respectively. Which employees may have their wages reduced varies as well. The Fair Labor Standards Act defines a tipped employee as anyone receiving more than $30 per month in tips, although several states set a lower $20 per month threshold.

Also, doesn't Timmah live in Virgina.

Side-note: I always tip at least 10% at Restaurants, Delivery, Cabs, and Full-Service gas stations.

Its 2.15/hr here. Or 2.45. It really doesn't matter, because due to taxes my check is either void, or at best 30 - 40 dollars.

A question i've always wanted to ask, Tim, if your job blows so much with pay, why not find another job somewhere else? I know its none of my business and feel free to not answer that question, but it's just always been something I've wanted to ask and not sure if I have.

Where I'm living the minimum wage is 7.25/hr. and the only people who make less than that is waiters and waitresses (and probably immigrants paid under the table at the local car wash). But those cats get tipped so it evens out.

I usually tip double-tax at restaurants, which used to be 16% (8% meals tax), but is now 18% (fucking increased taxes be damned).
