Pretty sure its been around longer than that, given that Samuel L Jackson insisted on his special unique pretty princess purple lightsaber that broke all of Star Wars' rules on lightsabers had to have the letters BAMF etched on the bottom of it as a keepsake in order for him to take a role in the movie.

Also, regarding WoW guild names... AoS had a guild named Sick Duck for quite some time. Someone reported it and made them change names because if you swap the last three letters of each word, you get Suck Dick.

From what I've read, the lightsaber only says "BMF", for "Bad Mother Fucker". Dane added the ass and the pronunciation. Although, it's likely he stole it from another source (since apparently that's what he does), but BAMF was popularized by Dane Cook.

jedi were supposed to only have blue and green blades, and sith the red. lucas insisted on it cuz they're the primary colors of light, but jackson wanted his to be royal purple cuz he's a bmf (reference to pulp fiction) which also fit into the story because windu was the only one on the council to use the dark side without falling and is the reason why he kicked the shit out of sidious.
