So I've pretty much found the secret to rising in ranked without having a full 5 man or 3 man. It's to not have fun. You have to play the same god damned pile of characters over and over again because a game like this is in complete tiers.
Need a physical DPS:
- Ez: Banned.
- Shaco: Banned.
- Xin Zhao: Not banned -> PICK!
So on so forth. It's just like going down a top 10 of all champions. Is it picked or banned, don't pick that specific spot. Thusly why I use most of my time playing the same forsaken champion that I'm sorry League, but I don't find funny after about 2-4 games straight each on 30 mins. D:

That's the theory, yeah. You ask anyone and, right now, they'll tell you to take a hard carry, demand mid, and push your team to victory.
Fact of the matter, though, is that that's bullshit. Far too often there's just jack shit you can do about it. You could be the best playing in the entire game and if you just continually get stuck with a team who feeds 10 deaths by the 10 minute mark, refuses to respond to any effort to work together, or doesn't even speak the same damned language as you, you're fucked. All of that, of course, added on to the fact that the other team is going to have a physical carry trying to do the exact same thing as you.
That seriously seems like the case every time I solo queue ranked. It's just one crap shoot after another.

After watching streams (sometimes queuing is so frustrating in itself that I simply cannot be bothered) of some of the very high ranked players. They also duo queue or pretty much have only have a chance depending on their team.
What I meant, that even then, you have to play the best. Most of the champions are balanced and all, but most of them require some sort of special composition. Else you just got to pick all the S-tier left overs with your duo queue mate.
Word from Riot is that the most effective is a hard carry soloing by you jungling so the player who cannot spell his name right can take mid and have a smaller chance of dying. Problem intensifies even more there. I'd like to be that jungler. I want to practice jungling so I can be good at it, I can fully jungle with Udyr, if needed as tank, WW (lol) and now I'm trying to learn to jungle with Xin.
But I suck at it. I jungle way to slow for it to be efficient. Tried it in a normal game, since practice games are in that stupid stage. My friend always picks Galio if he can and since Galio is 1-button champ (personal pref.) yet still claims to be tanking, getting Xin Zhao as a jungle to sync with his ult is pretty good.
Does anyone here know any jungle build on Xin? I would do Phreak's build, but truth be told I don't have that much IP at the moment and farming up IP is either going to be carrying with yet more boring characters in normal games or roll the dices again.
Bah, matchmaking of any kind will be the death of me. Never saw the point.

Of course everyone has to deal with solo queue frustrations, but that's a misnomer that people throw out to label people as "bad." Queuing with four other people at ~1800 Elo is WAY different from queuing with people at 1000~1200.
My preferred method of jungling for Xin involves laning for 4 or 5 minutes. Start with Longsword, hit ~575 gold and b. By the time you get back you'll have the gold for a Razor. Hit the jungle, starting with whatever buff you like best. In another 500 gold, b again to finish the lantern. You should be able to finish that by the 7 or 8 minute mark.
There are a couple of things I like about this method. The first is not wearing the giant flashing "I'm going to be in the jungle" sign that is Smite and the second is that people don't usually expect a champ to just vanish from the lanes for 10 minutes.

I was doing an extra 122% of my attack damage in magic damage with each hit. It was hilarious.

I've finally given up on Solo ranked. I finally get Heimer in a ranked, and we have a great team lineup. Me, Kat, Garen, Yi, and Blitz. It's great because their team is nothing but squishys, save Mordekaiser. Yup, there's no fucking way we can lose.
Cept we did. Why? Because every fucking god damned piece of fucking shit team in the entire god damn fucking UNIVERSE fucking focuses the FUCKING TANK. WHAT. THE. FUCK. He has more armor and magic resist than his ENTIRE FUCKING TEAM COMBINED, a fact I pointed out so many fucking god damn times. But no. Can't kill Morgana, can't kill Kennen, can't kill ANYONE. Too fucking busy with the god damn TANK. The one with the AoE shield and cone that gives him extra health as people blindly walk into him. Then Morgana, Kennen, Alaki, and Pantheon can pick us off while the entire team gets wiped trying to kill Mordekaiser.
The ONE time we managed to ace the team, nobody pushes with me. "I'm too low on health" NO. You could have ONE fucking health, it doesn't fucking matter, they are ALL FUCKING DEAD. ESPECIALLY when you're FUCKING GAREN. Fucking idiots.

I absolutely concur. I propose a bet. I say that we will win more games if we play more tank characters. I just had an completely identical game, though the other team's comp was really good we could make it null and void so easily. If only Nasus and Rammus didn't dare us to punch them in the face every time we saw them. Damn global 'I'm a tank' taunt passive. Nerf that shit.

I've been completely playing like shit lately. I have no idea what my sudden block is all about, but I'm regularly giving up 8~12 deaths per game and, obviously, by kdr has been absolutely awful.

Solo-queue is making sense to me now. Holy crap. I'm crying. It is because I don't carry enough. I tried an Ez game but I built him wrong about midway through, stopped hitting important Qs and stopped using R properly because my mind settled with 'hey I got 14 kills, I've done my part'. I also stopped leading people so we lost because I thought 'we got this'.
Damn! Well, since my 'climb to high rating' started, I won 3 times and lost 4 times. Needless to say, I am only at 1300 (I cheated and started after winning a few games.)

I just looked at the new patch notes (the ones with the Kennen buff) and immediately went "Oh wow Heimer just got fucked hard."

I was just about to post something about that. Keep in mind, though, that those are only test realm patch notes. That's an absolutely absurd nerf to Heimer and I'll be moderately surprised if those changes make it to live as-is. Seriously all they need to do is gimp the amount of gold he gets from turret kills.
Shaco got shit on almost as hard. It's pretty well deserved, I think. Riot allowed his skills to be too synergistic, in my opinion. JitB while still stealthed? What was that about? The debuff from Two-Shiv has always seemed really random to me. I didn't realize his R lasts 30 seconds. That's dumb.
Hell yes to the Kennen buff. I'd think his R could use a little more love on the AP rate, but the change to Mark of the Storm will probably balance that out.
Also hell yes to the Malphite changes. Major love for him. Might be worth playing again.

I still think Kennen is a flawed concept. Let's not give a thought that this will add more to the AoE metagame (no I do not know what this means but I saw it on the forums OKAY?!!!1111 : (((( ), but he's still treated like a mage by most people. I don't see why.
Amumu can go into groups and press R because he's a tank, Kennen can dash in and get insta-gibbed the second he shows his face and then press R when the screen is gray.
Looking over the Shaco changes btw, I can't see how any experienced player will feel that much a difference. PERHAPS in the clone change, but that's it. The jitb thing will only remove the initial crit, but many times, I can see it help the less experienced Shaco player.
Normal scenario: Jungle Shaco jumps over to the player behind the tower, plants a JitB as he lands and crits the player. Player gets feared and flashes away, Shaco uses Shiv, might not be able to land it, etc. etc.
New scenario: Jungle Shaco jumps over to the player behind the tower, plants JitB as he lands, fights the player normally making the player think he can win, player gets feared, player flashes away, Shaco deceives and promptly shows him the gray side of LoL.
I can't see how else it would affect gameplay really.

The change to clone is huge. Has a massive effect on his ability to walk up to a tower and auto-win it. The JitB change is bigger against better players. Good Shacos blink to an enemy and drop a JitB and then crit so that the fear hits just as they're turning to fight Shaco. Using Deceive without the crit is... bad. That auto-crit with bonus damage is a significant portion of his burst damage.
