Hate: that it's a basically a new year...and I need to find a new place. Guess I'll start this week.

Like: 2010 is ending. Good riddance. What a terrible year. There were only a handful of good things that happened this year. By handful I mean three or four.

Graduating college was one.

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

And I'm a happy medium. I'm thankful that this year is coming to an end, but at the same time, I made some pretty horrible mistakes that will probably end up costing me. Maybe not next year, but...yeah.

I think that sums up the game pretty well. Speaking of games...

Heard it's just like every other feel-good, emotional trip, inspiration fighting movie.

Except it's got Christian Bale, who (along with Matt Damon, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Philip Seymour Hoffman), by his very presence, is capable of guaranteeing that a movie won't WHOLLY suck.

*cue the 'Oh you say that but THIS movie sucked' comments here*

EDIT: Robert De Niro used to be in that category. It is a very sad thing. =(

I don't like most other fighting movies. I liked this movie. So for some viewing audiences, what you heard is wrong.

Ever see Raging Bull, Alex?

Yes, and I liked it very much. I said that I don't like most fighting movies.

Yeah. Was just curious.

Damn good movie.

Like: Revolutionary Road.

Great acting in that movie. Also, uh, Daniel Day-Lewis? Sorry, no. I've only ever seen Nine, which was great in spite of him (mostly thanks to the lovely Marion Cotillard). I'm sure he's good in other stuff, though.

There Will Be Blood, My Left Foot, Gangs of New York, The Crucible

He's one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) method actors of all time. I haven't seen Nine; I heard it sucked as a whole, not for DDL's participation.

The man is playing fucking Abraham Lincoln in 2012. Big Grin

9 was an incredible disappointment.

We're talking about the musical, not the animated one.

And Daniel Day-Lewis, IMO, was horrible in Nine. In my opinion, the only good people in that movie were Marion Cotillard, Nicole Kidman, Fergie (lol what), and sort of Penelope Cruz (she had good moments).

I want to see My Left Foot, Gangs of New York, and There Will Be Blood. They're on my list of movies to get off Netflix.

Gangs of New York is amazing. In classic Scorsese fashion, it ever-so-slightly oversteps itself, but you'll love it for that anyway.

And it's got Brendan Gleeson.

Gangs is one of those movies I've watched back to back in the same day.

Hate that finding a new place is going to be harder than I thought.

Like that my nieces are fast asleep and I will have time to watch a movie Smile what movie...remains to be unseen. Pillars of Earth?
