Actually, I was just joking because you called it a "dilemma" even though the only ones who should be really worried about it are the mafia.

Ah, yes. I used dilemma because, if the mafia were able to deduce the nurse as easily as Moyki suggested, there would not be any sort of conflict and it would be instant kill/intant let's get everybody to vote for the nurse on the next round. There would be no dilemma or conflict, so the game would lose some luster.

Perhaps we should start specifically questioning people for information. See where they slip up.

I say we get majority vote for either Celena or Raphael. Both of them kind of linger in the thread but produce minimal posts.

I don't think we should take that chance. If we keep lynching townies we're going to have to deal with a larger Mafia:Townsfolk ratio. Once the mafia kill somebody, we'll have a leg to stand on when we try finding the mafia. Likewise, the Sheriff will eventually be able to find out who they are the longer the game goes on. I think we can afford taking a no-lynch day today in exchange for greater odds tomorrow.

No, I say we strike at one of them and take our chances.

There's 11 us now; 3 mafia, 8 non-mafia.

So let's take a chance on Raf or Celena, then if we miss the sheriff still has less people to investigate.

As people are eliminated the sheriff will have less suspects. Plus, if he/she is being active, then already 1 suspect is off their list (2 if you include Waff's death). So even if we kill another townsperson, ultimately the sheriff gets to shorten his list. Plus, less people for the nurse to have to worry about guessing to heal.


It's in the best interest of the remainder of us to lynch someone off.

Even if the sheriff did know the identity of one of the mafia, do you really think he'd speak up and risk being killed in the middle of the night? I wouldn't, if I were him. And, hell, a Mafia could just pretend to be the sheriff and have us all lynch an innocent man, and even if the real sheriff speaks up first, who do we believe? Even the nurse can't say who he or she protected because their name will be next on the list, and they may even be lynched for being suspected of being a mafia member. This game is really all about lose-lose situations.

I think our best bet lies in using our intuition and judgement and continuing to lynch people. I don't like it any more than you guys do, and I apoligize to Waff for causing his death. However, if we stop lynching than we pretty much give all the power to the mafia. We might as well roll over and show them where to stick the knife because we refuse to take chances to protect ourselves.

Most of what I said will probably put a target on my back, but nothing so much as this: I have strong suspicions that Alex is mafia. I saw him viewing the thread prior to Jonathan posting the night results, which makes me believe that he cast his mafia vote at that moment. I'm trying not to use just speculation on this one.

Well, what if he's the sheriff/nurse? It would make sense for him to try to keep a low profile then. It would also make sense for him to check the thread right before the decision.

I mean, I'll cast my vote for him if that's what we want, I just don't want to be hasty.
