I tried trading myself the starting pokemon but it won't let me cuz I made it learn Cut >.<.

Other than that, I'm loving the new pokemon. I'll add my friend code when I get home.

I actually beat the Elite 4 within a week. The story is actually really good, and the characters are surprisingly well developed. I was hoping to get more info on N's background, but maybe the anime will add more.

I heard the pokemon for this game sucks, I want to try this game but I don't know if it's worth it gamewise; anyone up for giving a Chubbsian review?

Well, lets see, my review? The new generation V Pokemon are a little lack-luster looking, design-wise, but even with that fault I have to say I've really enjoyed what they've done (and with trying to come up with hundreds of different creatures for 3-4 years, I would expect some of the stuff they come up with to be subpar) They've made some really smart game-design decisions, and the upgrade to 3D backgrounds was done in good taste.

They've also made some nice changes to the story formula; it's not just you chasing after your rival! You and two of your friends start the journey together, and generally they're the ones catching up to you. Plus, they're exploring some interesting themes that the series has only ever broached lightly before: is catching and battling with Pokemon ethical? (real life answer: no, pokemon answer: murky, their entire world/culture is based around these creatures and even self-aware Pokemon don't seem to mind being captured to fight) It's also got a nice tongue-in-cheek feel to it, that while subtle, is present.

Honestly, one of the best Pokemon games I've played in years. I'd give it a 4 out of 5. If they ever decide to update one of the older generations with these new design decisions, I'd bite.

I just want to know when they are going to make a Pokemon MMO.

Irrelevant.

If you're playing it to just your way through the game, then all your opponents have equally sucky pokemon. If you're playing it to collect, then it doesn't matter what the pokemon do or are or what their stats are.

This has got me quite excited. Admittedly, I have less patience for the pokemon formula than I used to, but I'm steadily making my way through Black.

I used to be into Pokemon. In a way I still am, but I only play Blue, Silver, Gold, and Yellow because those are the games I own. While I'll never own a DS I can only say that at this point in my life it's something to pass the time. I replayed Blue while recovering from surgery.

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

I love that Black/White is all new Pokemon as you go through the game, until you beat it. It takes me back to when I first played Red and I was surprised by all the different pokemon, what they looked like, and what they did. It's awesome.

Yeah, I like that feeling too. Pokemon games should always feel like an adventure into a new land, at least in my opinion.

And Vad, any reason you'll never get a DS? The DS has a massive library of very good games to pass the time when your commuting or just vegging.

Yeah srsly.

Just games like Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, Pokemon, Trauma Centre are reason enough to get one.

I'm a longtime fan (completed pokedex for the first three generations), or was until Diamond/Pearl. At that point I was burnt out, which I hadn't thought was even possible, but I still haven't even gotten all the badges on Diamond.

I think I'll make it through White, though. I love that they're finally addressing the ethical side and the story is something unique compared to whatever generic take-over-the-world shit they had in Diamond. I enjoyed the Ruby/Sapphire story too, in fact that might have been my favourite.

Also I love that you can reuse TMs now. Normally I never use them in the course of the story, now I do. And the new stuff like rotation battles are a sweet idea to mix things up even further.

The new TM mechanic is amazing, and now I'm not hording a bunch of TMs or cheating to get a decent supply. I'm using them, which is what I'm supposed to do.

How far you get in Diamond/Pearl, Greg? I think I stopped around the second/third gym badge. xD I have a pretty good start on my Pokedex too (about 89 Pokemon, give or take a legendaries that won't be added 'til I get the national dex), but I just got tired of it after a while.

I think around badge 4, which I only got after forcing myself to return to it. I played through Leaf Green but it took a long while, so I think I must've been getting Poké-fatigue by that point. I played Ruby and Emerald hardcore, though I haven't filled up the entire national dex - getting the original 251 the first time around took long enough. Including legitimate Mew and Celebis from the UK events, I was that big of a fan.

That's awesome. Managed to nab a Celebi at a Gamestop event, but so far no Mew. Sad

It -was- awesome, but it's lame that they're stuck on my original Silver cart. Otherwise I'd have about 20 legitimate Celebis (I won a fight at some official event and got a free copy of the then-new Crystal with Celebis included. Good times)

If you got access to another Gameboy Advance you could trade it to emerald, and then with a DS trade it to one of the DS titles.

The first two gens can't trade with the others at all. That's partly why they rereleased them. Seriously, google it, it's impossible otherwise I would have imported my army to Ruby already.

Well that's gay, and not the fun mansex kind.

Edit: Heres a listing for event pokemon. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/L...on_in_2011
