I really hate having to wait for Black Death to come out on DVD to watch it. Looks really interesting regarding the setting (1300's during the Bubonic Plague, knights and crusaders huzzah!) and theme. Unfortunately, it released a week ago and when we went to see it, we found out that it wasn't going to be shown anywhere locally. I know that is at least 50 miles from me according to my phone, but I'm guessing most of the south east given the topic.
In other news, I did enjoy Battle: Los Angeles as my back up movie.

Come over. I can grab it through Time Warner's New Release service. =P

I'm so glad I just bought a month of Aion. I now know paying to waste my time all day playing a video game might actually help with something for once.

Yes indeed.
Also
The only thing I hate more that arrogant religious preachers telling me that I should believe and how their God is the only one that exists, are arrogant atheists telling me God doesn't.
None of them know. We're only just beginning to scratch the surface on the origin of our particular universe, nevermind the beginning of existence itself. Absolute statements like that piss me off.
If you don't believe there's a God, that's fine. Just realize that saying 'there is no God' is as much of a statement of faith as any. When I see some atheist pundit looking down his nose at people just because they hold a belief that differs from his, I have to fight to keep from exploding from the irony.

That's a personal pet-peeve of mine, too.
I don't want anyone telling me that their beliefs are the only right ones. I don't care if they're talking about the Jesus, Allah, Zeus, or none of the above. Unless I specifically ask for your shit to be shoveled into my mouth, keep it to yourself.

I'd prefer it if people just kept their beliefs to themselves for the most part (do they need me to validate it?) and just be cool. It really only bothers me when people try to pass laws based on their religious belief.

What bothers me more is when religion gets dragged into decision making when it never had anything to do with it in any way. That's what happens quite often. In order to create drama or backlash, someone will say "omg he went to church three sundays ago, so he clearly is trying to force us to love jesus." It's the definition of both politics and retardation.
That said, I still agree with Waff. Making policies to advance a religious agenda is very frustrating. I just think it sounds like it's happening more than it actually is.

I'm pretty certain that's true. I think it's more prevalent in America, but I think the worst (and most recent) was the creation myth being taught as science.

I've always viewed abortion more as a legal issue than a religious issue. I don't really see religion in the subject at all. Is it murder, and thus illegal, or is it not? And that just breaks down to at what point you believe a fetus is a living human being.
Of course I understand why people do. The Bible discusses sanctity of human life and murder as the greatest sin, so naturally it can be used in the abortion debate. But I could find those two topics in some preteen novellas purchasable at Target, that doesn't mean they should be brought into the debate. People use religion because it's powerful and it's so damn easy.
