Mafia III - Day One, IT BEGINS

In the beginning, there was chaos. Everyone went around killing everyone else, and everything was shitty and basically it was just murder city.

Until one dude stood up. "You guys!" he said. "This is all wrong! We need to get our shit together! We need to get ORGANISED."

"WHAT" said the townspeople.

The dude stood up even more. "From now on, we have to kill according to a set of rules. In the day, we vote on who we want to kill, and if we get a majority then we kill one person. The bad people can only kill at night, and only one person."

AND THAT, MY FRIENDS, WAS HOW THE NOBLE TRADITION OF MAFIA WAS BORN *closes book*

If you can't be assed to read the old topics, or you have a bad brain for the memorys:

Each night, the Mafia members will select a person to kill; that person will be immediately removed from the game, and will be restricted from discussing the game with anyone after that point (this includes through PMs, IMs, in real life, etc). During the Day Phase, the villagers may collaborate, discuss the events, launch accusations against other members, and vote to lynch another member. Upon death, the role of the deceased will be revealed.

The Mafia win if their numbers are ever greater than or equal to the townspeople. The townspeople win if they ever eradicate the Mafia.

It takes a full majority to lynch another person (greater than 50%). If you wish to lynch a member, type your vote in bold in the form 'Lynch X'. If you ever want to recant your vote, simply type, in bold, Unvote.

You may vote for a no-lynch. If a no-lynch vote passes with a full majority, the day phase immediately ends. To vote for a no-lynch, type, in bold, No-lynch.

Commandments

Do not discuss this game outside of the Day Phase topics. That includes PMs, IMs, real life, what-have-you. ALL discussion must take place in these topics. The only exception is if you are Mafia; you may then PM/IM one another to discuss who you will kill, and your general strategy.

No screenshots of any kind. You may not reveal your role via screenshotting the PM. That said, you're more than welcome to reveal your claim via words (or claim to be of any other role as well). I will only be upholding the rules to make sure things move smoothly, but I will not be correcting the mistakes or lies of participants. Be sneeeeeaky.

Restrict your strategy to the topic itself. Despite the temptations, do not use the mechanics of the forum itself to 'meta-analyze' the game. If Who's Online is turned back on, do not use it to try to get extra information.

Remain active. Persons who are inactive will be killed off at my discretion.

The differences in my game are as such:

Each day phase lasts 24 hours. After 24 hours have passed, I tally up the lynch votes and if there's a majority, that person dies. Until that time, you may retract your votes.

Night phase lasts 24 hours maximum, but I'll try to keep it shorter than that if all the actions are in.

My only advice to you players is to not make any assumptions or rule out any possibilities. Unless you really want to. Then I guess it's okay.

EDIT: If I felt better about the nature of the group here, I'd suggest we start pressuring people (and obv, who better than Doe?), but since that tends to end up with people getting in a day-one frenzy and killing an innocent, let's not do it.

I guess no lynch. Probably my best move till I figure out how else to do this. I'm gonna guess that if we have 18 players that there are probably about four or five mafia, but I don't know how many there were last game either. Is there any list or roles or are those all secret as well?

There were three mafia in the last two games. That doesn't mean anything about this game, though. I'm assuming a minimum of three, though.

True, and I get your point. I guess its just to make a statement of "no intent to move on someone", since it can be adjusted later if the situations change for now. So I guess there's no strategy lost in making a statement or not, which leaves no real reason to say anything (unless voting) outside of just looking active to avoid getting killed by the gm.
