I don't mind Flash in its current form. It promotes active gameplay, first and foremost.

Without Flash, ganking would just be TOO strong. Yeah, there are things you can do to mitigate that, but that's far from 100%. And really, people should never be immune to ganking, it's part of the game.

When people's Flashes are down, they play passively. They sit at a tower and either make no forward progress or they lose their tower two hits at a time because they're afraid of a gank. With a "get out of jail free" card available, people are willing to take risks and chances they wouldn't otherwise, which gives all players in the game more critical decisions.

Is it frustrating? Yeah. Is it a crutch? To some extent. Do I think it negatively impacts the game? Mostly no.

The single most frustrating thing for a player is to watch someone get away with one hit of health left. People will go to STUPID lengths to keep that from happening (usually to the detriment of themselves and their team, even) and Flash is what enables that 90% of the time. That said, the act of chasing someone down and getting really into the "I have to get them" mindset is usually fun -- even moreso when you actually catch them -- and it's usually because of Flash.

tl;dr: Yes, its frustrating when people Flash away from certain death, but I think the active gameplay it promotes more than makes up for it.

I think Flash as a summoner spell is bad for the game.

I would definitely prefer if it was an item, similar to where they split Zhonya's Ring into two items, where you would likely have to choose whether or not that effect is worth a slot in your inventory. I think in the direction of choosing Veil, GA, Hourglass, etc.

This. Tried out Caitlyn, who is awesome btw, and was kicking ass, levelling fast and...holding back the two and three people in mylane when I wondered to myself,"Why am I here alone? Are they having two people in mid and kicking ass or something?" Turns out my lane buddy or whatever the term is was Warwick, "Jungling" as he put it. I was level 11, he was...4. Goddammit

They've actually addressed that exact suggestion. The reason they're hesitant to do that is because it adds a quantifiable value to the skills and champions who HAVE those Flash skills and the stats on the item would have to be so low that it would have a direct, negative, impact on the more item-dependent champions.

There are still VERY viable alternatives to Flash. Ignite, Exhaust, Clairvoyance, Ghost, Clarity and Smite are all still great spells to have.

I liken it to Magic the Gathering, to be honest. Counter-spells are in the game. They can also suck my dick. That said, I KNOW they're in the game and I put it on ME to play around that.

But if you're sitting across from three untapped islands and you just go right ahead and drop your finisher, YOU'RE the one that fucked up when it gets countered and you lose the game.

I see Flash the same way. Unless you've SEEN them use Flash within the last four minutes or so, you have to assume they have it up, and engaging under any other assumption is YOUR fuck up.

I think I like the idea of everyone not having an escape and having to build them into their kits. Makes skills that are only really useful for escaping that much more useful. HOWEVER, the removal of Flash would require some champions have their kits reworked because there are for sure some champions who need it.

I don't really care if they keep it or not. I trust Riot to keep the game balanced if they took it out. The game, right now, is balanced a lot around having access to Flash as an escape -- and even initiation -- tool.

Personally, I'd like to see Cleanse get a bit of a buff. It shouldn't be broken like it was previously, but there is rarely a reason to take it over Flash or Ghost.

So...Jax is a fucking god. two people on this dude's team Dc'd almost the whole match and he still annihilated all of us, took no damage, dealt shittons and had lifedrain items besides, I couldn't understand wtf was happening. Tried to keep out of melee but he leaps and stuns, and then I died before it ended. I don't even know what his teammates were tbh because I don't remember seeing the ones that didn't DC, but what the hell

edit: apparently the guy is lvl 30, but masteries don't even seem very powerful so I don't know how much of a difference it makes
