edit: apparently the guy is lvl 30, but masteries don't even seem very powerful so I don't know how much of a difference it makes

A level 30 has not only masteries, but access to a full page of tier 3 runes. And on a champion like Jax, who gets tons of benefit from a stat that is very hard to get outside of runes and masteries, it can make a HUGE different.

Of course he could have also been running mana per level and HP5 and a bunch of crap that was irrelevant, but if a level 30 DOESN'T crush level 10s (legitimate level 10s, not smurfs) then he's, literally, the worst player ever.

Garen's early game returned to being hard to hurt while he's sitting in a bush at full health all game? That'll be annoying.

Oh, they're nerfing tank dps? heck yeah, those things piss me off. Like, I know how to kill everything else. Doesn't mean I always win, but I at least have some clue about how to toe-to-toe them.

Tanks confuse the shit out of me. They tend to do at least as much damage as I do and take waaaay less, so I pretty much never beat one solo

Usually, AP champs and support, and even some ranged, have trouble against tanks. Support, being support, don't do that much damage, AP usually works in bursts, and ranged aren't effective close range, and tanks are all melee champs. SO, melee dps like Yi or Tryn are usually good, being able to out damage their health and armor at close range long enough to kill them. Also, outnumbering tanks works too. Hard to survive something above 1v1 as any champ, if everyone is the same level. So yeah.

All this advice is to be taken lightly.

Wheretf has this heimerdinger guy been all my illustrious LoL career? Turrets are fuckin' sweeeet. Also tried Blitzcrank because he's one I'd literally never seen used. Man is that a terrible first...10 levels before it got fun. He seems very well balanced to me once he gets going, not super strong, but not too weak. Mediums do seem to get much less play than easy ones and hard ones I've noticed.

Danky DPS get their damage from their skills, for the most part. The reason this creates a problem is because they build TONS of survival gear and skill have good base damage from their skills (especially those skills that scale off of HP, Armor, or MR) AND because building defense is a lot easier than building attack stats. So here's a scenario for you.

Nocture jumps on top of a Shen. Both have about the same gold worth of items: Shen's items are all armor and Nocturne's are all AD. Because of Shen's stats, his Armor makes it so Nocturne is doing about the same damage as he is. So both champions are doing about the same damage, but Shen has built up a whole bunch of HP and other defenses (activates and passives and such from items like Sunfire Cape and Randuin's Omen) while Nocturne basically just has AD (most extra effects on AD items do virtually nothing in this situation or we're already taking them into account).

So Shen wins because defense items are just better than offense items.

It gets really dumb when you get to the loading screen and see Shen, Amumu, Sion, Malphite, and Taric on the enemy team. You KNOW you're straight fucked.
