Thread to talk about champs you like, champs you don't like playing with and/or against, etc.

Making this mostly because I'm still testing out champions in vs. AI games.
Initial impressions:

The good:
Heimerdinger. As I said in the other thread, fuck yeah son. Don't use his ult too often tbh, but the passive bonus part is there, so I'll count it as having 4 solid skills.

Blitcrank: Probably won't use this guy for pvp matches, but he's fun to fight the AI with. He seems incredibly weak at early levels, and unless you get boots he seems about the slowest dude I've ever seem.
However, once you get him up there he becomes pretty decent, with a Scorpion-style move that damages and pulls back to you the first thing it hits.

Also has an an activated movement speed and attack speed buff that makes him hit where I think he should probably be anyway, but he has a sweet innate that every minute gives him a shield with strength equal to half his mana(not sure if it damages his mana or it's free now that I think about it, but if it drains I didn't notice) So in effect I wind up with 5k effective hp since the shield lasts a good while. Overall very mild abilities, somewhat strong but not great, probably why I've never, ever seen him used.

The bad:
Singed. Wtf. This guy is so fucking awful outside of his ult I feel bad for him. He has a poison trail toggle that tickles anyone that follows him and is dumb enough to stand in the misty purple death, an aoe targeted slow, one move that throws the target behind him and does laughable damage(cool for team fights perhaps, but...lol.) and his ult, which was the only redeeming factor.

It gives him a ton of attack speed, damage, movement speed, mana regen and some other stuff. Basically he becomes Master Yi with Highlander for 20 seconds on a 97 second-ish cd. But...you could just have Yi

Fuck yeah Heimerdinger.

Blitz is hilarious because of his grab attack. imo, the most dangerous champion early game. You get pulled into tower range and that's a level 1 kill. Granted, it only happens if you're stupid, but it has happened. As well, one of the best initiators in the game. "LOL pulled your carry out of the fight then knock up silence death!"

Funny that you say the only good thing about Singed is his ult. Just like with Blitz, Singed's tosses are incredibly deadly early game, usually throwing into towers and what not. As well, his poison trail is, imo, the fastest, easiest lane pushing mechanic in the game. The main combo is to throw your slow onto the carry, turn your poison trail on, run in and flip carry into team, then run around doing hilarious amounts of poison damage, occasionally flipping champs into towers or back into your poison. I tend to use his ult as a better version of ghost. He IS a very weird champ to play, but I find him hilarious.

Once Singed gets his rod and starts going tank he is so beast you can't imagine it. A good Singed will take down your carry while you're engaging and you'll be like "WHY DO WE HAVE NO DMG" and Singed will just be back in base chucking potions being all like "I mad chemist".

I've been trying to figure out if I have a champion I'd call my "main" but I don't think I do. There are a lot of champs I enjoy playing quite a bit.

Xin Zhou is beast. Nidalee is a ton of fun. I like pretty much any ranged carry (with Ashe and MF being my faves, prob). Jungle Yi is a blast.

Who I hate playing against 100% depends on who I'm playing as. I don't think there's any champion that I see and universally say "fuck that guy" (other than GP, obv).

EDIT: And yeah, Singed is hella legit. He requires a very specific playstyle. I, for example, am a very bad Singed. A decent (not even good) Singed will just walk all over your shit, take a tower, and then get a kill or two on his way out.

I feel this describes Singed. Because this is what a decent Singed will usually do if he's lazy and dislikes confrontation. You will try to set up a fight on the other team, but you suddenly notice Singed beating the SHIT out of your tower with every single boosted stat in the game. You will send one up there because "shit, it's just a tank". That's when he proceeds to wh00p your ass and suddenly it's either a 4v4 with a mad chemist pushing your base or it's a 4v5. It usually ends up with your team retreating and the rest of the opponents pushing another tower while Singed finishes his. It's a really frustrating strategy to play against but it works damn well.

Annie, hells yeah. She starts off relatively weak in terms of stopping power but 15 minutes into the game I was a fucking monster if I timed the passive right. Fireball Stun, aoe, tibbers, fireball again and it's gg 1v1 although no one on the other team was stacking MR. Did have the staff just in case though

Next on my list of "omgwtfbbq how do I use this guy" list: Udyr. Wow, is he not at all intuitive to play.

Just had a guy on the other team using him and he was a fucking beast, so I have decided I want to get at least decent with him, because he seems like he'll be rewarding, if horrifically weak at the start

That's the "Me Gusta" face. He's a lot of fun, if not very strong overall. Xin Zhao is still my fave, but I use Renek when I don't care and wanna have a fun game

I think Renekton actually scales better than Xin does, to be honest. He hits a point where he simply doesn't care about anyone while they stand in the swirling death of his ultimate and let him Q all his health back. Getting to that point can be a little painful though.

Of the "tanky DPS" meta, Xin is a little more on the DPS side and Renek is a little more on the "tanky" side.

Mostly why I find Xin superior is that Renek is fairly slow and his ult sucks something awful. Rank 3 gives 600 hp and does rofl damage aoe? ...granted, I see how it's similar to Nasus for flavor reasons, but 600 hp by the time you get it is never, ever going to save you.

Also, found my favorite tank: Amumu! With the blue buff and a freezy mallet(can never remember what it's called, the one that always slows on hit and gives some hp) this dude's awesome.
Hard as heck to escape from alone and his damage isn't too bad even with all tanky gear. Gonna take some getting used to from my usual bloodthirsty Xin playstyle, but getting beat on without having to give a shit is pretty sweet


Also, sadface. I can't get the "regifted" amumu skin which I assume was a christmas thing

I love the fuckshit out of Renekton. Saying his ult is shit? Gotta be kidding me. Also, I really hope you aren't seriously taking Frozen Mallet on Amumu. Please stop that. Take Crystal Scepter if you want that effect.

First of all, the damage is FAR from rofl. Since we're talking about Rank 3, it's 100 magic damage per second to all champions near you. Say the bulk of a team fight lasts 6 seconds and Renekton is near three enemy champions for the duration of the team fight -- those are very reasonable numbers, btw. That's 1800 magic damage from just the passive part of his ultimate.

By level 16 (when you get Rank 3 ult) 600 HP isn't all that great, I'll give you that. Nice, but not mind blowing.

The REAL reason his ult is amazing is because it gives him basically full rage at all times. If you haven't played the champ, you don't know what a big deal that is, but it's a pretty fuckin big deal.

You can't compare his ultimate to someone's like Amumu's because they function in completely different ways. Some champs just have these big flashy ultimates that, when they hit, you say "oh shit." Some of them have more subtle effects that are just as powerful, but you don't realize it until your dead.
