Champions

So, I've decided that a certain group of champs are trash and if I have more than one of certain parts of this group on my team I leave queue, so outleagued by others who can do the same job so, so much easier and better based on my experiences.

Alistar, Taric, Galio<Amumu, best tank imo by far and then, any of the other tanks do better than I've seen those two

Udyr, Olaf<Xin, Yi, Jarv, etc. udyr just...yeah, he's great if he's fed, but if you make a char with zero abilities and give it best in slot gear it will be a monster, so w/e. Olaf...maybe I've only seen bad ones, but I've either been "wtf, man" when they're on my team or crushed him beneath my tiny feets(been teemo and Kennen a lot lately)

Karthus, Cass, Malzahar<Ryze, Vlad, Annie. As I've said before, I think "hard" just means "way too hard to execute the same things an easy can do faster and harder.
I've seen one godlike Karthus who had mindreading powers with Lay Waste, but otherwise I see free kills on almost any champ, and while I've seen a couple of good Cassio*cough*s I'm confident those same players could pick up any of the 3 I mentioned above and rock way harder. It's a serious pain in the ass to land her attacks besides the horribly weak poison one, and they're not very strong anyway.

They're super cheap, so I was able to harass and hold a lane against a Leblanc and the timidest Warwick I've ever seen almost indefinately, but the damage...and the range on her ult, wtf melee range? and if they're running away it only slows them instead of the measly 150 damage and sweet 2 second stun...huh.

Malzahar, people on the forums seem to QQ about him somewhat regularly, but I have not seen the same ones they have apparently, and I...well, fail miserably at landing his skillshot, so whatever, but at least his ult kicks crazy amounts of ass I guess. Maybe when I hit 30 I'll be awed, but on my rise up, nomnomnom

Also, idk exactly where Nasus goes, but he doesn't seem hard enough to tank or strong enough to be a dps and he has little in the support department, so...idk, but again, never seen one I had to run from at full health

Also, before flames of nubbery are called out, I admit that these could all be played marvelously, I'm just of the opinion that they're not so good where I'm at now.

Also, why does barely anyone play Nunu? Just tried him out in a 3v3, had a leaver Yi on my side, but I racked up kills like no other on the all-melee enemy team(Xin, Lee, and Yi). I got 0 AP because I went for tons of armor for lulz(Thornmail, The slows-on-hit shield thing, and the Aoe melee slow frozen heart thing,) and wound up at 400 armor(holy cow diminishing returns above 75% reduction btw), 12% dodge from boots, and, again, no AP.

They got a couple pieces of MR each, and my ult still rocked them like you wouldn't believe. Had an Ashe on my team, so slows galore and despite my otherwise puny damage that was the most fun I've had in a good while.

EDIT AGAIN: So, tried Maokai out just to see. was 5/0/4, so I did okay. His E is awesome and the other three are fairly underwhelming imo, but not super terrible. I had a Shen buddy the whole game though or I'd probably have eaten it a few times. But yeah, he's relatively weak, but man is E fun. Does good damage for a fair cost, and terrified the living shit out of the other team, who apparently also had little experience with this champ. Abused that a bit, dropping my ult on them when they grouped and made them scatter all over for fear of the surely imminent huge damage >.>

Not going to flame for nubbery, but you have a couple of things that need to be addressed.

Firstly, Taric is not a tank. He's a support. One of the best support in the game, actually. A heal that hits both him and an ally. Either increased armor aura for your whole team or damage and reduced armor for the enemy team. Aura of damage and maybe HP regen (I never remember whether or not they took that off). Stun with good duration and great range. Anyone dumping him on a team for the purpose of tanking is officially doing it wrong.

The problem with your mage rankings is you're not contextualizing them. Malz and Karthus push a lane better than anyone else anywhere on a list. Are Ryze and Annie better at killing champs? I would say "definitely." So there's some give and take there. Another thing to keep in mind specifically about Ryze is that he can't push a tower for shit since building MP and not AP means hits for the full 70 AD he has.

Cass I agree with. She actually has an incredible laning presence, but her ultimate is SOOOOO worthless that it almost doesn't matter.

Udyr really has lackluster laning abilities. He needs to rank W nonstop to be able to sustain himself which means his damage is not going to be good. In the jungle he's still an absolute beast, though. He can gank like nobody's business. If you've been seeing people running around in lane with Udyr then I'm sure you've been less than impressed.

Nasus and Olaf kind of get the same comment from me. They require nonstop farm for the first 20~25 minutes of the game. If they're not at or competing for the highest CS by that mark then they're probably not going to have much of an impact on the game. That said, if they DO get their items, they are completely unstoppable. I've seen Olaf charge through three or four of my teammates and walk away like it was nothing. Nasus can just stand around dropping 800 damage Qs every two seconds and shrug off damage with his ult. They require a shit ton of farm and some careful play in the beginning of the game.

So... yeah. No rage, definitely, but it definitely seems like you've had the unfortunate experience of seeing some champions simply played completely incorrectly. And I don't mean "you have to build X, Y, and Z or you're doing it wrong" but there are something that just don't work. If I was in Ranked and someone pick/locked Taric for our team's tank, I would be pissed.

So...I still haven't lost a game as Maokai. He's not flashy and certainly not a killing factory, but goddamn must I be annoying, especially when paired with a heavy-hitting melee dps

Also, I've played exactly 3 games as Maokai, so yeah, but it's better than I generally do

I'd add to the Chubbs LoL wiki going up but most of my 'experience' is bot games.

Ahahahahahahahaahaaa I am such a dipshit and can't deal with losing because I put way too much stock in what some dude I don't know on the internet thinks about my gaming skills.

Yeah, I love the fact that there are bot games. I test out newer chars and pwn the nub versions when I just wanna kick back and kick butt

Also, just played a couple games with Irelia, who is loads of fun btw, but her suggested items are all AD. I went for speed both times though, because: Hiten style doesn't scale with damage, so more hits=more heals from it and the active for it means more true damage hits, and, with my favorite item of all time, Stark's Fervor, I regen health very quickly. Her ult I suppose might scale with AD, but I was very satisfied with AS results

SWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN! Got him since I'd never seen him still, and...why not? He takes a little skill, but not super hard, and heaven help your opponents if you get the blue buff. Anyone else played him?

I bought Swain recently and had my first game in a Co-op against Intermediates. We almost lost the game, but there was one pivotal teamfight where I saw his potential. I'll be trying to use him more often.

I saw his team potential in one team fight. He wrecked that shit.

I hope that came out right.

He's weak at the start without a strong melee buddy to take advantage of all the slows, but man is worth it in the end. Just ended a game with 515 AP(didn't get that until the end, bought it while dead, etc.) but I hammering the fuck out of people(who never died because of their number advantages, but hey).

We lost anyway because it was me and a Cho on defense in our base while the other three did...whatever, but it was a fucking blast fighting them all and holding 5 people for a good 20 min before the super minions gave them the edge to finally knock us out. So. Fun.

My last post was basically intended for humor's sake - I think. But on a serious note, from my perspective, Swain is basically useless in the grand scheme of things but a fine character to play for just enjoying playing. They appear to have wanted a mage tank or at least the mage version of "tanky dps" and they achieved that, but I don't think he has enough of a dmg package outside of his ult to really contribute, and even then he seems to need a lot of farm.

That said, as with any other character in this game, no matter how much I dislike them, I've seen some Swains do just like my last post said and wreck that shit from beginning to end with good root placement for their team. But that's not saying much, because I've even seen some Cass's destroy before.

Compared to other mages, she's very underwhelming. In every category.

Meh, I think Swain needs a "support" tag and you could call it good. One change I would make given the power is to remove the tether from his Q and bump the slow up a hair at the earlier ranks.

He's no Annie but he can be pretty badass given the right team. So weird that I see so many people using Cass than Swain, of who I've seen exactly one now besides me

I wouldn't say Cass is underwhelming in every category at all. She can crank out some serious damage if left unattended, sorta like Kog'maw without the range. That's the problem though - her range is shit, her mobility is shit, and she has no ultimate. They said they are going to "seriously buff" her soon.

Honestly, here's what I think needs to change. I think they need to adjust her speed a bit, not too much, but her base speed is so terrible that if you CAN'T land her Q, she basically stands still. Where this causes a problem is that her Q and W have a longer range than her E, which is her primary dmg ability. So she can land one of the others, get you poisoned, and then if you let her close the distance, she can theoretically put out a lot of dmg quick using Twin Fang, but she spends the majority of the time where you are poisoned just moving into position.

She's then so close to you that the majority of characters are simply better off just leaping back onto her and destroying her, especially in a team fight, since she's very fragile.

Her ult is a tough one. A lot of people feel it should just always stun, but I think they really want to keep the flavor of it and not just have Sona's ult on her. I'd go with her ult doing a cone (a larger cone range than her current "must be in melee range but has no movement speed" cone) that does a mass Nasus Wither on everyone, slowing them until they petrify for a second or two. If they give her more range and change the effect to something like that, which still holds the flavor, then they can have a more consistent, and thus useful, ult.

I think Kaden and I played a Cass/Urgot lane one time.

Laning against us was basically "no."

Yeah, she's surprisingly a bitch to lane against.

Cass is incredibly efficient at holding lanes. AOE DoTs mean your minions aren't going to be much use against towers with Cass on the enemy team. But she is very susceptible to getting ganked. If you're solo, her ult is underwhelming, but with a good offensive character it can do great. That's my noob experience, take it as you will.

I played Swain a lot for a while. He's a lot of fun and can put out a ton of damage with relatively little risk.

Cass is a good laner. Beyond that you're better off playing any other caster.

I enjoy laning because I'm a noob and right now my strategy is mainly "kill minions, run away from champions". Well, exaggerated, but you get the idea.
