Riot releases Champ

Champ is a little OP

Playerbase "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"s

Riot kneejerk nerfs, usually overnerfing the champ.

Some people still play the champ for a while, then interest dies off.

A month or so later, Riot buffs the champion back up a bit, step by step, until they're satisfied.

That's such an exaggeration, though. The last several champs have been released in very balanced places. The playerbase is just determined to never let them live down that whole Xin Zhao fiasco.

Shame about removing the gangplank deny mechanic. I was planning to buy him just to try that out.

That said, ultimately glad they are removing it, as that sounds nothing but irritating if you're the one on the receiving end.

What's happening to Xin NOW isn't a nerf, because he's being buffed due to previous nerfs. Right?

I've only played them once in this patch, but I felt the changes. The duration nerf to Battle Cry not only hurts his overall DPS, since he loses the passive AS bonus that much faster, but it added ~3 seconds to all this cooldowns with the build I used.

EDIT: Ok, it didn't actually increase the cooldowns, but in practice it meant that the Battle Cry nerf meant I was missing ~3 hits during the active which means that's 3 seconds that his cooldowns don't get recharged for.

I just watched the preview and felt Gangplank just got nerfed. His ultimate couldn't even finish off a big wraith, I mean what the fuck is that. Name me one ultimate that can't take care of a big wraith (.. that does damage).

His current ultimate has the EXACT same problem. Sometimes it instantly kills people. Sometimes it does absolutely nothing. How people see this as acceptable is 100% beyond me. That fact that it now drops a GUARANTEED AoE slow on a global ultimate is pretty badass.

Yeah I noticed that when wailing on towers, but otherwise it didn't stop me from stomping everyone that looked at me funny. Including Brand. But I see your point. These buffs should eliminate that issue pretty well, though.

Lately, if anything, champs are coming out a little weak. As fun as he is, I still don't think Maokai is a wise choice considering the other champs out there, and I haven't seen a Lee Sin in ages.
