Hypothetically if I were to host a tournament for players under 3k CA where CA and other determining factors played a role in who wins or loses who would be interested?
My vote doesn't count. I just want to see the results as I view the thread.

Doing things with other people?
Who would NOT be up for that? (I voted yes)

Why not allow people over 3k CA to participate, but include a bit about how if they're over 3k they have to wear collars that reduces their CA to the average of the remainder of the field (those under 3k)
So people who have a CA over 3k would have to wear mechanisms that reduced their CA to the average CA of those participating under 3k.
A = 4000 CA
B = 1000 CA
C = 2000 CA
D = 3000 CA
A would be allowed to participate, but his collar would diminish his CA to 2000. You're probably asking, why not just drop their CA to the 3000 limit? If you drop it to the average, they'll be weaker than above-average participants (in terms of CA in the under-3k part of the field). For two reasons, first, that those with higher CA's have probably earned it with regards to quality, and to level the playing field means giving other, less active, and, due to less activity, probably less tuned writers, a slight advantage in CA (A > B slightly, and RPs more regularly, so is more in 'writing shape', so give B > A in terms of CA). The other reason is that most people with higher CA are accostumed to RPing being in control of fights, and dominating, and this forces them to RP from a new perspective.

Tournaments, tournaments. It's just a chance for the same active players to win, or at least get far. I vote no.

Being rewarded for being active is bad?

No, but being able to determine the outcome based on the participants before any actual fighting starts is tedious. >.>;

Or, why not just...not consider CA?

Because I feel like breaking that curve. CA is going to count if I host this.

Why not just remove CA from this site entirely.
Pretty much the only time it ever matters is Dragonball fights.

This wasn't a thread to discuss CA. It was a thread to gauge interest. Keep it that at please.

No, I wouldn't be interested. I just came out of one with my alt. Plus I still have my thread to finish with Celena on Vegeta.

I've decided that if I do this I'm going to implement and see if Alex's idea works. I'd go old school and judge the fights myself and create a point system using Quality and CA as final calls.

Since it seems that DA is on the back burner once again, I'd also be interested. Though I will likely be stomped.
