I'd wait a little bit and start over. I could be wrong, but I don't think you will get much of a performance boost without getting a new processor. It'd just bottleneck.

Processor is stock 3.2ghz quad, OC'd to 4ghz. Could go higher, but seems unnecessary.

460 is OC'd a bit, but it can't go very high past stock without artifacts cropping up, even though its heat is pretty reasonable.

Hard drive really needs to be upgraded.

Currently trying to find a way to get more FPS out of it. Can run WoW just fine (not much of an accomplishment), but the system drops to 20-30 FPS in dungeons in RIFT, which just sucks.

Opinions I've heard are:
- Get a SSD and put games on there so transfer rate isn't bottlenecking
- Upgrade to a GTX 560 Fermi Ti (gewd card)
- More memory

Thoughts from computer experts?

I'm probably going to keep my 300gb around for just, you know, documents and crap, and move performance-dependent applications to the new drive.

Question, though, because I've never had two hard drives at once: when I get the new one, should I just move the performance-dep applications to the new HD via cut-paste? Or is the registry stuck on the old drive and I have to reinstall them?

Because Steam and WoW are pretty fuckoff huge applications and having to reinstall that crap would be a monumental pain in the ass.

I can almost guarantee you'll be stuck downloading if you do that to WoW. I've never tried that to Steam, but you SHOULD be okay.

Then it's worth a shot. I've been reading a lot lately about how the WoW Patcher and the game itself has been really picky about it's files. If you alter even one small specific thing it'll send you into a 14 gig download where it "reinstalls" the game.
