Power Differences Between Our Characters vs Old Characters
#1
I remember someone explaining the differences of power between this 'generation' or group of warriors/characters we all play now compared to the ones we used to play with canons.

Would it be fine with a character realizing things have changed with warriors in this aspect?

For example I'm currently brainstorming and thinking of bringing back Dehan and having him attempting to reclaim the old 'Saiyan Warrior Spirit' aka attempting to become powerful enough to where he was compared to where he is now. Was being, having knowledge that he could potentially obliterate a city or cause massive destruction to a area around him if he were fighting all out etc.

The old characters had rather large power levels... some that could destroy cities and even planets.

The new ones have CA and there power is substancially weaker and more 'get real' like. Its down graded so you might can tear down a building...

I believe X-men are the commonly brought up power scale, more specifically not the ridiculous ones.
A man in a wheelchair with a rocket launcher can make a big explosion once, then he's as weak as any other cripple.

I don't understand the X-men relation. Most of the famous ones are over the top and can destroy a city in their own right, so why use them? Why not just say the fighters on this forum are on par with Sailormoon? It's prob just as accurate, if not more.

I guess it's because it's pretty similar to me. Our character's power compared to the old ones we used to play, kind of like a kitten going into a cage against a rabid dragon.

I think I can be content with that though. As for my question I'm just curious as to if an old custom who held the kind of power the canons we played did, would notice the drop/change IC?

Well, like I said, the non-ridiculous ones. It was the example used in a thread I didn't find looking through a few minutes ago. Another example was that Kaden(who, btw, is about as Focus-heavy as possible) could blow up a city block using all of his power. So the average folks with more moderated Focus would need to hit the mid 20 thousands in CA if I understand correctly.

I was told that people in the thousands of CA could destroy a few city blocks with their power, while people with Vic's strength could destroy far more then that with the same amount of effort.

That effort being a strain, like having to work for it.

Balls, I can't find the thread. If anyone does, it should be stickied

aha, advanced search ftw: http://www.cdbzrpg.com/forum/showthread....post560106

Seems I misremembered, Victoria was used, but so was the need for a powerup, so 20s of thousands is still about right I expect.

All I know is Vic nearly obliterated a space port in tier 2 mastered, full power explosion. No one said it was over the top...and let's not forget the space canon she powered xD.

This is always a tricky topic. Josh had the right idea when he explained it once.

Precisely. I vote my linked post gets stickied, or perhaps a more official version of it since Victoria's power now is different than it will be in the future.

Spiderman is actually the most common equivalent mentioned.

Not going to lie, I have found this thread really humorous because nobody has actually addressed the topic. I wasn't going to say anything until you did.

Fighting to the bitter end is an advantage when your opponent does not wish to perish.

Belle noticed it. I just kind of glossed over it since the Construct fight happened soon before the thing happened, and played it like Belle losing his "power" because he lost his "confidence."

You could probably make similar excuses for why it happened. Or you could make no excuses at all. It's really up to you as to how to play it.
