So, since as I understand it the world has been exported and what we currently have won't exist much longer...TNT party anyone?
A man in a wheelchair with a rocket launcher can make a big explosion once, then he's as weak as any other cripple.

IF things are backed up now as the final copy of the map for whatever is decided (Gina keeps asking me what's going to happen so she knows), I don't think anyone would have a problem with me just spawning a good fuckload of TNT to level half the map with.

Sounds like a plan to me. Sometime in the next couple of weeks I'll set a time if people want to get on and toss everyone a fuckton of TNT.

I've been looking at the options and I think a new map would be better than modifying the old one. Currently it's already 600 megabytes in size, and we're going to have to spread out even further to get new stuff to spawn then we already are. I'm fine with giving you guys the map itself if you want to keep a copy for yourself, but I really don't think I'm going to upload it onto the new server.

Alright. Gina (GloMSG) is going to be pretty distraught to hear that, but I absolutely understand technical issues being involved. She does want to be there to blow shit up before the server goes down, and was already tossing around the idea of lighting her creeper on fire among other things, but I'd definitely appreciate a copy of the map (even though it'll likely take a while to get) to pass along to her and Erin.

Nah, I have the map uploaded to megaupload already, anyone that wants it, grab it. Shouldn't be to hard to set it as a single player map.

There's the world folder, which is what you'll need to use to set as the single player world. The other file can be ignored, it's the world backup for MCMyAdmin for server admins to use.

You can actually just put it in your .minecraft saves folder and then play it. Nothing special needed, just make sure you don't have a save called "world"

I just found out that, no. They will not.
Anyways, I am having fun with 1.8 though it is a pretty different game with it.

So...I've been browsing the minecraft wiki and I just noticed something terrible:
"Strongholds apparently only generate once per world and vary in size (though they can be *very* large)." So...wtf
