Actually, Pirate's Raise Morale used to do that. It was dumb. That's why they took it out. Deny is the correct terminology. Keeping the enemy away from the creep wave so that they can't last-hit effectively is "zoning".

Looking at it, Snare is incorrect.



Snare actually is just like stun with the exception being that stun stops movement and attack. Snare stops your movement temporarily but you can still attack is something is within range.

Snare is used for both. Since there is nothing in the actual game that calls itself a "snare" there is no correct definition of it. "Snare" just means to impede their movement.

Teemer is correct. This is most commonly referred to as "zoning." The purpose of zoning being to deny your enemy XP and gold. Both are used, but "zoning" is much, much more common.

What he said. Wit's End...I wouldn't get very often. For survivability I usually cap out with simply buying a Banshee's and trying to be careful. Odds are as Ashe, if you're cornered you're dead anyway, same with Sivir and, if your E is down, Ez. Nashor's Tooth doesn't exist.

Wit's End is good on melee champs, where you'll actually get something out of the bonus defensive stats. It's an item you want to supplement with HP or other defensive items.

EDIT: It's still perfectly fine on ranged champs that can scale with Attack Speed such as Kog, Vayne, and Kayle. Maybe not, like, the most competitive item for them, but still fine.

So... I got told I was KSing, and I dont think I was.

Playing as Jax, I had Xin Zhao, Gangplank, Talon, and I think the other was Kog'maw but may have been someone else.

Xin was the one that said I KSed. It was around our top inner tower and Gangplank or Talon was there alone trying to defend it from two or three of them. One of them was their Gangplank.

I seen it and someone pinged it but I was on my way by then. I get there and our guy who was defending was a quarter health. I W>Q and get into the fray. Xin wound up in the fray before or after me, I didnt pay any attention.

Their Gangplank got ass raped, another died, and the third that was starting to flee got the W>Q to finish him off and I was rolling towards Mid for the next fight.

Next thing I know... XIn said I KSed...

When I played WoW, a snare was something that hindered your movement (as a general term) in any way. I always heard what you are talking about as a "root" (or in CoH, an "Immobilize").

So... I've been thinking... And I have questions...

If you start a game... and you've got lag, you should disconnect right? Or do you stick it out?

Why in the hell does it seem like I fucking blow when I play with you guys, but usually when I'm off playing solo queue alone, I usually don't seem to suck? I realize that all of you are level 30, and a lot more experienced, but what the hell?

Is it because I',m not level 20 and having the necessary runes? Or because I'm not level 30 with all my mastery points?

I mean, I realize I play a bit too aggressive and not defensively enough, especially with a champ who's build doesn't seem to really have armor, but it seems to work more then half the time. I say that because of my 9 wins and 8 defeats. 2-3 of those defeats come from the Nunu(Maybe I should try the way of the jungle with him? I don't know, but he feels like he's to hard to get his build halfway done and gets dominated when I use him.) at least 2 games come from defeats with you guys (one from tonight and another from the 4v4 where a certain Ashe was so evil to my Jax,)and I think the other 3 came from Me playing with Jax and plain old defeats.

One of those defeats came tonight as well. I had my Jax and we had a few others, a Janna with a lot of lag who was bot with a Talon, a Kayle who laned with me that DC'd for about 5 minutes, and a Tristana in mid I think. They had an Ashe in mid. Shaco and Kat up with me, and a Soraka and Cho at bottom.

They immediatley say they want to gank top. I tell them that shits not going to work.(Fuckers tried that shit on me before and failed.)

I get up there and catch sight of the Shaco dip into the bush and ping where he is. Janna(it's her idea) comes by me and runs straight into the bush like an idiot way before Kayle can get there. I decide to hop in after her, because, I have a thing for pouncing on a mother fucker. That and she was just standing there staring at the wall not even hitting him. I Leaped on him and chased him back to his tower and that was the end of that, returned to the bushes because he hit me with his poisoned blade and that turret looked like it wanted some of Jax.

Well begin the onslaught from hell. Janna get to bottom and continues to die again and again and again and says lag every single time. She made my usual death count look shameless. I find myself having a hard time getting the kills on the Shaco and Kat, I was doing good damage, but I don't really know if Kayle was just scared to get a little or what? We get a few kills but prolly give a bit more. Shaco's slow is a pain in the ass for me.

I managed to knock on their tower a few times but it wasn't much as I usually can do. Tristana seemed to always ping her tower and I had to wonder why she was never there O_O Talon managed to do a bit of moving but leaving Janna wasn't a good idea, and if I left Kayle alone Shaco seemed to be able to push right up to the tower and either get a piece of it or make Kayle go goodnight.

Well, unlike some people, I don't give up and I keep on trying. I'm not much for the surrender thing and usually never do.>_>

It gets down to crunch time and we've gotten Mid to their base. I got annoyed at the fact that their mid's towers were all still standing and I tower the mother fuckers down. I only knocked twice. I Pushed the first one down and then moved that same small wave to the next and had a nice chunk out of it before the enemy decided they didn't like me knocking.

As hard headed as I am I went again, this time Talon was there and Trist and maybe the other two. Everyones standing around watching minions fight afraid of the two people standing around the tower or just ram the tower down... or do all three. I chose option three, because that Kat had me in a bad mood. A R>W>Q And moments later E. Everyone decided to try and get into it with it ending up with their tower down and a few people as well and an inhibitor tower with a third of its health missing.

Granted we lost one person I think and everyone's health was 1/4-3/4 but mostly around half.

Ashe poked its head from behind the shadows and had a nice chunk missing from the fray but still lived. It dawns on me that right then was the best time for us to strike and possibly push to the nexus, because they only had an Ashe and everyone else was over 30 seconds to remain dead.

I'm the only one that seemed to realize this though, because when I jumped on that Ashe, everyone else decided to sit around looking stupid.

My efforts were in vain because the Ashe and turret killed me with the Ashe nearly dead. I asked them how come they didnt bum rush the turret and Ashe and the answer I got was "We'd have needed more health."

The Turret fired 2 or 3 shots at me. In that time 3 people can tear down a turret before a 4th shot. Needless to say they stood around there afterwards and got gutted and in the long run we got dusted.

We could have had that victory...

I took a while to contemplate that and wondered why we lost. It was hard to swallow.

But at the same time, I went decided to give it one more shot. Losing two times in a row with Jax isn't something I like.

We wound up with me as Jax, a Fiddle on top with me, Kennen in mid, a Yi and I tihnk maybe a Kayle on Bot. Other team had a TF and Cat on top, an Annie in Mid. Taric and Jax in Bot. =(

Kennen immidiately kills Annie because she sits there and goes auto vs auto with him. She comes back and dead again. I turn around and kill their TF,and say that this games going to be to easy. PFFT!

I dont know what the hell goes on on bottom but sumbitch!

I wind up getting TF and Caitlyn a few times, occasionally giving a death to get a death. Fiddles sometimes made me wonder if he was straw brained with his dawdling. He was in top bush and I was in the gank bush and he pinged to get TF's ass who had strayed just far enough for the leap. I knew Fiddles had his Ult ready. So I jump and Gett his health low as hell and Fiddles, just stood there a few seconds before coming out the bush. By then TF was to far away for his crows to reach him and to close to the tower for either of us to want to try to.

I wind up getting a tower down and going to help mid a few times(Tower Tearing) but they seem to wind up getting the upper hand pushing us back to base. When I look at Jax, the fucker has 2 levels on me.

These mother fuckers keep us at our inhibitor base for most of the time and their Jax is untouchable. I can kill everyone but that sumbitch O_O He got the Hextech, then two daggers then changed them into Phantom Dancers.

These fuckers wind up missing and i find them getting the Baron... I sneak in trying to get the steal<_< hoping they wouldnt notice. They Noticed. I think Yi tried to get the steal as well but it was to late.

They got the Baron twice but werent brazen enough to really come at us on our porches base steps. If it was me I would have rushed and removed the tower with easy, because I know Jax could have.

Kennen and Yi manage to do a bit of 'Backdooring' on the top and bot lanes and some how we wound up getting their asses. That somehow was because Annie and Cat and TF and Taric would usually get a little to close and one by one died.

They had taken our tower finally and had wound up pushed back because someone had to go stop a back door.

Minions finally tore their towers down and all that was left was their nexus. We charge them and I go straight for the Nexus. Their Jax seems to know Jax so he keeps his eyes on me always. I got a quarter of the Nexus health before I got killed. I realized then that if I could get 10 seconds with that nexus that it would be mine....

I tried again and died again. I got annoyed and they got overwhelmed with minions, having to work all three sides. I figured I'd target Everyone but Jax. He seemed to stick close to the Nexus. he panicked and went towards the bottom...

He got occupied and I saw the Nexus.... I went a'knockin'. That Jax was pissed. I didn't get to see the comments he would have left because the server went down...

But yeah... why does it seem sooooo damned different?

Well, for one, stuff happens. I've had 7 or 8 game losing streaks and I've had 10+ win streaks. Not much you can do in solo queue. As for when you're playing with us, that level and experience difference is tremendous. You have what, 50 games total? Most of us have hundreds of wins, let alone however many losses we've stacked up. So, if you're playing with us, odds are you're getting stacked against folks that we should be fighting vice dudes you should be, because of runes, masteries and shittons of experience.

Also, regarding that fiddlesticks, his ult takes a couple seconds before it casts, so that might've been why he didn't just explode out of the bush, although he could've cast it earlier I suppose.

and, again, a lot of the time your losses in solo queue are beyond your control. People are dumb, and even at level 30 they're still dumb. Everyone has their moments, but the difference is being able to tell what you did that was dumb and how not to do it anymore and why chasing Singed is always a bad idea.

As for what I do that's dumb... I don't play defensively enough and love to use Jax's W>Q Combo a lot more then I should, not giving a flying shit if they are near the tower or not. Actually if they are just standing there at the base of the tower I always have a strong urge to do it just to show them it doesn't scare me. This leads to me usually dying at times, and can lead to a Weemus and Jarka hopping on mics repeatedly saying "Mal play more defensively" which wound up being just the 'Mal' "Mal" "Mal". I really think someone was biting back the urge to start growling at me>_>

And then they wanted me to speak on a mic.... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH This redneck is not that foolish to get tongue lashed O_O

I should learn to get away from Jax, but I haven't found anyone that I'm as comfortable playing as him. I do need to find someone that can counter him though>_>

It's absolutely levels and experience. For one, at 30 we have runes and full mastery pages which can help a LOT. Along with that, most of us at 30 have played enough games that matchmaking has us about where we're supposed to be. Since you're not 30 yet, queuing with us, you're gonna get paired up against others who have full runes and masteries as well, as well as against people who have played a lot more.

It'll all even out the more you play though.

Bot games...don't really count like, at all after learning the basics, especially given the rather limited pool of champions it pits you against.

Also consider that we know the champs you are playing better than you know them yourself, while we also know the champs that WE are playing as well, where you may not really know what our champ does. We've seen the matchups, we know who has the advantage in a Champ A vs Champ B situation, and we know how to play against those champs to avoid certain things (Garen's Ult, when to attack someone after a move is on cooldown and exactly how long till we need to get back on def, etc).
