Rate the Film You Just Saw (+ chat)
#1
Simple. Watch a movie, then rate it out of 10. 1/10 would be Battlefield Earth. 10/10 would be equivalent-to-your-favorite-movie. Feel free to chat it up too; this isn't as structured as Rate the Song Above You.

Just watched HalloweenTown. It was hilariously bad. 2/10 for serious, but 7/10 for the unintentional lulz.

So our rating is based on our own feelings towards it and not how we'd judge others to think of it?

Anywho, I just watched Planet of the Apes (2001) with Jarka.

6/10. Pretty amusing movie given the context. The ending was terrible, and I guess the whole love triangle involving a chimp lady could come off as a bit strange. But fuck it, I like Marky Mark, and I love Helena Bonham Carter.

Brokeback Mountain

8/10. Not a bad movie. I think a lot of its hype comes from the fact that it was culturally sharp for its time, and not because it is a great movie. It isn't great. But it is good.

Source Code - 8.5 / 10

Just watched it with Piper, pretty damn good. Not, like, instaclassic or anything, but a solid sci-fi film. It also featured timeywimey, which is something I love.

Also Jake Gyllenhaal. I also love that thing.

80's version of The Thing earlier this week. 7/10. Not really scary. Just weird.

I loves me some Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill is usually really solid. I'm not a big baseball fan at all but I'm totally ok watching inspiring sports movies, I totally plan to catch this before it leaves theaters.

On that note I'm really interested in seeing Reel Steel. I don't even think it looks particularly that great so much as it just looks so very different. Anyone see this one yet?

While the background it baseball, it's more of a movie about taking the road less traveled and the adversity you face when you do. But the baseball parts are really cool too.

Pretty sure 7 is the hard cap to any Rick Moranis film.

The Caller. 9/10. Was creepy, seemed to move at a slow pace at times but was pretty balanced.

Trainspotting. 9/10.

I've watched it before, but I must have been too young or stupid to get it or even remember that I watched it.

That fucking baby.

The White Ribbon (2009) - It's a German movie about a small village in northern Germany. I can't really give more details without ruining the experience. 8/10 in terms of 'wow, that was some movie art.'

Does that mean it had a lot of sex in it?
