I love warmog's on noct or udyr after a couple successful ganks. Really sets the tone for the rest of the game.

Warmogs is a good item, but it's very timing dependant. There's going to be a point in most games where something like a Frozen Mallet or sunfire or randuins is going to be a better choice, whereas in other games warmogs is a very good idea indeed. Just gotta work out what those times are.

See the idea is that you get BOTH.
EDIT: I meant Atmas and Warmogs, but I see I misread your post.

ugh just had a game where our mid kass fed their shaco and veiger about 6 times in laning phase. After the first two deaths he just dropped too fast for me to be able to do anything when I was coming from wraiths (because, of course, he was always pushed up for some absurd reason).
Then we had a game where our Morg decided to troll part way through and /danced in every teamfight. Plus a terrible MF and a 7 death in 20 min alistar.
Sometimes I worry that I've made wrong decisions as jungler in some games I lose, but these two just boggled my mind beyond belief. Nothing at all I could've done.

Pretty much any situation I where Warmog's would be an acceptable purchase, I go with Frozen Mallet or Sunfire Cape.
I just very, very rarely think pure HP is worth the gold.

Well lets see... For Nasus Warmogs would be best if he got it early in game.... but THe way I see it(and the way I have interpreted everyones tips... Philo Stone, Sheen(To Trinity) Boots(Which one depends on the situation IE Treads if you are having problems with slows stuns and Magic... or CD boots if not and you want more available chances to get Q). Are 3 of the main Core items, followed by Glacial(To Mallet) and FoN. So that pretty much means Warmogs is taking a backseat to quite a bit and unless you are lucky to have been extremly fed.... Or you have a team capable of handling 4 v5 fights rather well... in which you can get it and even make your Q MORE dangerous... but at the same time... even then... You could be more focused on shredding the waves and removing towers or actually being in the team fight and making things even more easier on the team and also allowing you to kill them all and push for the win.
And Sig for clarification I meant... I grab Sunfire Cape then Atma's and say fuck the Warmogs. Fm and FoN are really all Nasus really needs.. unless theres a few melee idiots then a Thornmail is possible...

And there's the issue. Warmog's would be good... if there weren't better options. The other options almost always give you more than you get from Warmog's.
EDIT: Yeah, ok, the other options always give you more, if we're speaking literally. Not my point.

There's no set build for EVERY game. Now, I'm gonna come out and lash at CDR boots yet again, because... well... HELL NAW. Ninja Tabi and Merc Treads should be the only two boot you are considering, because CDR have other ways to be made up. Assuming you're building Philo -> Shureylia's, trust that it's a very good and underrated item, that's already 15% CDR. If you build a HoG (which you would want to in a lane of practically complete farm) and build that into a randuin or if you build a frozen heart that's already max CDR. You don't need those boots. For sure though, you want both Philo and HoG there and then you build Sheen.
Sheen is a good item for Nasus in trades against enemy champion. If they insist on harassing you, tag them right back with your sheen, but that's as much as you need in a lane of farm. As Nasus your role is not to be in every team fight, CCing every fucker and keeping people off your carry. You are the one that farms in the background, make appearances in big 5v5 fights, or dragon fights and hang around until you have +300 on your Q. By that time you would already have a shit ton of damage with Sheen, so I never recommend rushing tri-force. I would build Shureylia's before Tri, and then maybe another tanky item, completing Tri-force as a 3rd or 4th item depending how farmed you are in terms of kills that you may have scooped up in lane. Of course if you farm enough and can buy a tri-force straight up, don't hesitate to go for it. But there are other things out there that do a lot of Nasus, he's not just a tri-force machine. If you just build him pure tank, he still does a ton of damage with that Q, the tri-force just puts him even higher on the damage scale.

I usually get rid of Philo stone if the game lasts that long.
And Nope I'll keep my CDR boots. Its my choice, and I will continue to choose to use them. As a matter of a fact I know someone told that 1 or 2 others up in the top tend to use them.
And err.... Yeah I get chewed slap the fuck out if I dont build Triforce... so I say you are wrong=D

If you aren't building nasus philo, boots, sheen, triforce, appropriate tank items then you're probably either doing it wrong or getting dominated by the other team and having to build defense before triforce.
That's kinda all there is to it.

I don't build Philo on Nasus and I like running the CDR boots.
Philo > Shurelia's isn't bad, definitely, but I think it's wasted gold on Nasus. I don't really worry about the gold-per because I farm like a baws anyway, which is what you should be doing. For sustain, just hitting with Q should get you enough health with your passive it deal with any harass.
I do appreciate, though, that you start off with "there's no set build" and then immediately transition to "Ninja Tabi or Mercs only."

Guess I should've said the philo is somewhat optional, but I was speaking directly to Mal :3
But jeez no sheen to triforce on Nasus makes me sad no matter who's playing him.

Of course it is your decision. You mentioned that 1 or 2 top players use them, I would like to know who. And you're taking one or two players out of like, what...? A player base of around 3000 players and 1 or 2 uses it? There's something wrong with that math.
It's undisputed, Merc Treads is THE boots to get on any Tank, Tanky DPS sometimes even Jungle (Unless in case of a 0 CC, all AD team). Of course, if you don't that's entirely your choice. I'm just saying, I shun CDR boots when you can get just as much CDR if not more and not waste the utility of tenacity unless you want to build cloak and dagger which TOTALLY scales into late game... rofl.
Slapped the fuck out by people that have around the same amount of games as you? Meh, I know and have had in-depth conversations with competitive players about the tri-force as an item overall, and while I agree it's an item that synergizes well with Nasus apparently many high level players don't enjoy as much as lower level players. And I'm talking like... Top top players, like Xpecial from TSM, Dan Dinh and Westrice from Epik, and HotshotGG who just hates tri-force for some reason. I don't see it, but apparently they do. (I have hookups to EpikGamers vent through complete coincidence, and yes I have talked to some of those LoL celebs through ventrilo, lolol.)

While I won't come out and say "I FARM BETTER THAN YOU," I can say with high confidence that no matter how well you farm e.g top elo players (again using high elo players as example for metagame and mainstream) they still opt for Philo Stone because of the g/5 passive but also for Shurylia's Reverie. I don't know, as a Nasus that's played about anywhere from 100-200 games (yes, more games than Mal's wins alone with just one champion) besides proving that I'm a lifeless nerd, I would also like to point out that I take good pride in the fact that I farm very well with Nasus top lane and I still like the Philo Stone + HoG combo. Sometimes I find myself stuck in games where I'm farming for 20 minutes at top and Philo + HoG really makes a difference in a lane that has a reputation to be "the farm lane."
I would argue to the end of the world that Shuryelia's is not a waste of gold on Nasus and obviously I would change it into something else if a game gets into the late late, but for mid-late game teamfighting engage/disengage, reverie is an amazing item. Having one on both your support and on Nasus means you can engage + disengage in ONE fight. That makes a lot of difference.
Also, Ninja Tabi and Merc Treads is a choice in itself, and therefore supports my argument that there is no set build, but Tabi and Treads are your best bets .

I play a good Nasus and I disagree with you. While being a statement, it also serves as a pretty exact summary of what you posted. We're both going to believe whatever we want about how we play compared to someone else.
Saying "there is no set, but you have to choose one of these two things" is completely contradictory. It's not a real choice. The point of saying "there is no set" is to encourage people to experiment with builds that they like. Saying "these are the only two boots you should ever buy" encourages the exact opposite. Literally, no, it's not a contradiction. Logically, it total is.
I understand all the pros and uses of Reverie (I even stated that it's a great item). I don't usually build it on Nasus and, for people who are almost guaranteed to forget to use the item during a team fight, it ends up being a waste of gold. That's the audience I was speaking to. And no matter how much you like the item, there is not a single argument you can make that says that Reverie is worth the gold even if you never use the active.
While repeating the conventional wisdom of LoL can be helpful, it's more helpful if you tailor your comments and advice to the people you're talking to. Active items with the ability to disengage are not the level Mal is at. Trying to force it down his throat because you've heard as much from high Elo players isn't really helpful.
EDIT: I sound like I'm being a bitch here and that's not the intent. I'm just tired and don't really have the energy to make the words all pretty and nice. Just know there's no malicious or otherwise aggressive intent in my choice of wording. I was simply being blunt.
