like skyrim's time-sensitive plot points. in the beginning of the game you can hang back and watch all the people talking as the dragon ruins the area, but if you ignore everyone and just keep running then you'll link up with one of the stormcloak soliders and get a recommendation to join the rebellion instead of the legion.

plus it's just fun to watch as npc's walk around and talk to each other about critical plot points, instead of everyone waiting for you to trigger their dialog via typical conversation.

Yeah. Both significant improvements over Oblivion. Part of the excitement is seeing how they've worked it into the game. The other part of the excitement is seeing how the modding community will use all of these tools.

So far, loving, loving loving the stealth playstyle, sword and board is pretty cool as well and pretty fun. Mage feels pretty weak to me. I've put almost all of that character's levels into magic(Also Altmer which means even bigger mana pool) but I still go oom before anything tough dies, but I also get one or two shot by a lot of things so it's a lot of running around while I heal and regen my magic or just dropping fire runes as I run and regen. Also, conjuration is lame this time imo.

Mostly it just took time. Did some dungeons, stealthed through all of them carefully, and eventually joined the Thieves guild. The sidequests are awesome for levelling your skills, mostly sneak and pickpocket.

Training is super helpful. Especially with Stealth, where you can just be like "I am now X% sneakier."

Of course, if you have Invisibility, then it's not nearly as important.

disagreed on conjuration. i start a lot of big battles by blasting the first poor sap with lightning bolts, then rezzing him as a zombie to fight for me. between zombies, atronachs, and a compaion i don't have to do melee combat unless i want to

adding to the above, restoration has amazing defensive spells called 'wards.' it's the blue aura that enemy casters use to deflect your attacks. like, lesser ward absorbs the first 40pts of damage. it's a channeling spell so be careful not to waste your mana

This shit needs to be reworked so someone blocking 40 pts of damage doesn't equal I can't fos ro dah their ass off a mountain side. It's the most frustrating feeling in the world to charge up a shout, only to get cockblocked by a blue fizziness shielding the caster's front.

Wards are awesome.

Was fighting a Blood Dragon and discovered the Lesser Ward (whatever the absolute most basic Ward is) will block the breath attack. Then I just wait until it's not breathing and hack at it with my conjured swords.

Like: Just watched the final episode of Series 2 (Season 2 of new version) of Doctor Who. My reflection after watching it was summed up on Facebook. "Wow. Wow. No words. No freakin' words. Wow."

If I were to just coldly watch the last two episodes, I wouldn't be as affected but this was after a power watching of two full seasons of buildup to this. The crazy thing is that I know Series 3 is supposed to be even better (and each year after that more so), especially due to Weeping Angels and such, but HOW DO YOU FOLLOW THAT? Seriously?

Major thumbs up to those two episodes - they were a complete ride from the beginning to the end. And what an impactful, emotional end it was.
