I think the guy you want to talk to is named Broljorn. It's something really close to that, at least.

Hey guys...my PC isn't extremely high end, but it's pretty good. Should I get this on PC? I may some day upgrade my PC too, so there's always that.

I have it on PS3 right now, haven't opened it though so I can come back to work and exchange it if I go PC.

What do you guys think about which Races/Class/Faction is more enjoyable to play? I don't have the game yet, but I've never played any Elder Scrolls game. Like, in DA2 Warrior got boring since hack/slash amounted to the same shit over and over again, and Mage was too OP to be fun in DA1. Is there more balance in Skyrim? Does being a warrior get boring as the game goes on?

Also, as to factions, I've noticed you can kinda sort work with the rebels (stormcloaks?) or the Imperials. Is there any benefit to doing either of these? Or are they essentially equal paths with different flavor?

Can't speak to the factions (haven't gotten far enough in any of them).

stick-and-board combat has remained quite fun. There's a good amount of depth to it.

I went with Nord Warrior, and it's been a lot of fun. Can't wait to try out Breton Mage, or Dark Elf Assassin, or Bosmer Thief

The game is actually quite successful in giving you lots of information before you make decisions so I like that. Races all have their specialty and they're all pretty awesome as much as I can see.

Oh! I spotted this particular mod for people who have a good computer but wants the best.

I have no idea how it works but it seems to work so I guess it works. Yup.

Also for modding in general, http://www.skyrimnexus.com, part of the whole Nexus modding community.

By the way, does anyone know what Mehrunes Razor Shards are for? I stumbled upon some with my Argonian in a random dungeon but I haven't found where I'm supposed to collect these yet. There's not even a quest attached.

time to blog

lvl19 "god" build: Imperial w/ destruction, restoration, conjuration, heavy armor and smithing.

highlights: heavy armor perk "fists of steel" turns your gauntlet's armor rating into attack buff for unarmed attacks... currently wearing plated steel gauntlets that give me 30+ damage. i walk around blasting things with lightning spells and punching what doesn't die from that.

second, i don't use soul trap spells. instead, i took the conj perk that endows my bound weapons with soul trap. when i need to fill a soulgem i whittle the target down, then summon my sword for the finishing blow. so good, so got dang good

@ Trafford: Orc Warrior=godmode. Berserk turns hard fights into cakewalks, so retarded strong. High Elf mage power is essentially infinite mana for a while, long enough to kill most things. My other is a Khajiit Thief, but the bonuses are negligible, I just like the looks. Haven't done much story, and I may never. Never completed either Morrowind or Oblivion's main quests.

@ Victoria: As I said in the chatbox, if you can PC, it's flatout the best. No question.

@Tyr: I've had a courier approach me with a notice to visit the guy looking for the shards on all my characters without having found any fragments, but he's in Dawnstar.

@Pinky: How useful is the Imperial coin thing? Do you find a lot?

pffft it is the worst racial gimmick in the game: what you find is almost always less than 10g, opening every container is time consuming, and if you don't have sneak then you can't even take it from most people's homes. it's a good thing that i chose imperial for starting skills and not the money.

yeah, first time I started a character I was running straight through the story and ran into that asshole at lvl 3. Ouch.

First time I ran into an Ice Troll, I hit it once and then noticed I had to put on my glasses in order to notice the damage. So I ran back to a nearby village where the ice troll took two guards and a civ (who went in 1 by 1 for some reason) before dying. I reloaded because I felt bad. D:

I found the museum guy, the reward for that quest chain is pretty imbalanced. For the curious:
It's a dagger with "meh" damage but an enchantment to have a chance to instant kill.
That's really dumb.

EDIT: And by dumb I mean, actually, pretty interesting, though I wouldn't use it for balance reasons. It'd be really lame to just insta-kill a dragon with a shitey dagger.

I didn't have any problems with the only Frost Troll I've run into. I cut it in the face, backed up and waited for it to miss, then I power attacked, then I backed off and shot some fire with I waited for it to miss again.

Also, lvl 1 Unrelenting Force OP. Still strong enough to stagger someone out of an attack and has no cooldown.

Yeah, the quest ended right next to an altar so I just tested that out and it works completely. I just waltzed up and oneshot it, np.

I don't even think it has any charges on it.

So, mages are a lot better after they've hit Adept spells. Also, Impact OP.
