I'd like to take this time to point out that Sion is overpowered. I decided to try him out again for the first time since like lvl 10, did some testing and realized that blowing up your shield works with E to boost your max HP. Oh my god. to be fair, I was against a lanedyr, so I might not always do that well, but damn.

I played Sion on my smurf when I was playing with Mal. I rocked the Morgana I solo'd against. It ws just... dumb.

Watch some tournaments, Lanedyr is definitely a great pick for many reasons.

Not really. With the money you're spending on that insanely expensive item you're not buying any defense. For Bloodrazor to work, you need to be able to stand around and beat on people. Sion two-shots people without defense. If he doesn't and, for some reason, he won't be able to kill you when his stun comes back up, he just walks away and then either combos you again when his CDs are up or just stuns you if you try to chase.

There's a reason people always say Sion falls of late game, it's because he does fall off late game. Number one objective, don't let him get farmed. Sion is actually fairly weak against any of the top mid picks right now. Ryze, Morg, Brand, Cass anyone with a solid poke to say the least. Sion requires at least level 5, and 3 hit in W in order for him to have a solid shield that has 200 base damage, assuming your runepage has around +30 ability power and you have 1 dorans ring. That's only 250 damage, and that's if he gets close to you. Minus the damage you do to him before his shield hits + your MR. The damage early game is pretty underwhelming. The only reason Sion is so powerful is because of his stun and shield combo burst, you take either one out of the equation he's nothing. If Sion can somehow get a full shield damage off (which, let's face it, unless you're bad as fuck, should never happen) yes the damage is pretty solid. Sion's laning prowess comes from his stun not his shield, being able to save himself from ganks and complete ganks with that hard 1.5 second stun is an integral part of his gameplay.

Now you might argue, "but his shield so strong can't stop him from farming. Well, then don't. Sion using his shield to farm will only push up the lane and open himself to ganks while closing the opportunity for you to get ganked. Sion has no sieging power whatsoever. If you lane against him, all you have to do is freeze the lane if you're playing a farmer mid, or out harass him and lets face it, not hard to do. It's fairly easy to farm off tower if you get enough practice, and you won't fall behind Sion at all. Now if Sion uses his good ganking ability and starts ganking top or bottom, that may be an issue. This is the reason why Sion is hilarious in solo queue, but contribute nothing in ranked 5v5 assuming you're with a team that knows what they're doing.

Now let's get to mid game gameplay. If you're in a fight and Sion is not a top 2 priority of focus, you and your team sucks. It's extremely easy to catch Sion, because he has to get close to do the damage. On top of that, the shield is on an 8 second cooldown and his second shield will take an extra 4 seconds to cast. That means in a high octane dragon fight 12 minutes into the game, chances are, Sion will only be able to pop off that 1 shield and approximately 2 stuns. You get rid of that first initial shield, what does he have? Nothing. And he's close to your team already. Instagib.

Okay, let's go to lategame. He has a solid farm base, nearing 2.5k health. Lets say he has 2 Dorans Rings, Boots of Mobility, Deathcap and a lichbane (if you didn't completely rape him early on). He has a solid 580 damage shield. Cool. Sion approaches your team, gets rune prisoned by Ryze (shield drops to +350), get another Q by Ryze (shield drops to 20 or 0), that means another normal attack from a freaking support champion can pop his shield and render it completely useless. Let's say he gets out of the bad predicament by using flash, np, he has to take another whopping 12 seconds to rejoin the fight with a usable shield. Okay, even factoring in the fact that he has blue. The cooldown of the shield is reduced to 5 seconds, with the initial 4 seconds to explode, that still a 9 second to rejoin a fight and do damage. Sure if you're on the winning side of a team fight, you get tons of time to recharge that shield, but if you're not, you're out of the fight and that's assuming if no one chases after you and throws a gap closer or anything of the sort on you. Good luck helping your team tremendously.

Now, I'm not going to say Sion is worthless. His stun is the #1 ez kill for team skill in the game. Fast missile speed, 1.5 stun = gib. If you catch someone, sure, they're fucked, assuming they don't have banshees, QSS or cleanse. But really, windows like that open up almost never in high level play, and even if the window does open up, your might have not charged up your shield yet. So unless your team follows up with something that complements the opening you create with your stun only THEN will you contribute to a team's success. Sion contributes nothing into a losing fight, PERIOD. He is not like a Cassiopeia, or a Kassadin where they can constantly do damage, and poke at the enemy team even during a losing fight and turn the fight around. The reason he gets such high regard and people scream that he's op is because people play against him in solo queue, and it's no secret what kind of people plays in solo queue.

In conclusion, yeah, Sion is pretty underwhelming.

TL;DR: Sion's damage = underwhelming, good in solo queue bad in arranged. Undeserving of his currently high praise.

I have a single problem that bugs me. "High level play"

Only one that brags about it is you. Tryg and Kaden and others discuss tournaments and mention it....

Bu t I Feel.. that... HIGH LEVEL.. LOW LEVEL and MID level PLAY all differ.

Especially in solo.

A kick ass man can build this way in high level play and do well... but in low level... get fucked...

Don't care what anyone say's.... There are ways to wreck the high level..and it lies within... the lower levels....

Why? Because of edict.

Each level expects so much... or so different...

It's WHY... Mid ELo wont play with low Elo players. There's a different class that plays different.
