For the next several hours, I have school work that takes precedence over Chubbs.

Around 10 PM EST, I'm going to sit down and write out the introduction for this, which I will then post. At that time, I want to say anyone who has already signed up can post? People who join later may do so, and they'll just have to, you know, work it out? I think that's reasonable and would let the interested parties start testing out the creative waters.

Just bear in mind, this is sort of a 'test' Instance. It's for me to see how hands-on or hands-off a SG will have to be. Also, it'll help me figure out how often I need to update. So, for those of you already signed up, bear that in mind. Be as vocal as you can about how hard or easy it is for you to create the story. From time to time, I will make short updates and add things, but also, let me know when/if you need me to push it along for you.

So yea, if there isn't a brand-spanking new thread in the IC forum by 11 PM EST, you can all yell at me.

It's rather reasonable that a character be an orphan in a low-fantasy world where they live in tiny villages. A bit more likely than a mother who's had 5 successful births and then on top of that they all lived into adulthood.

I never said all of Karen's children survived into adulthood. I tentatively have imagined one late-term miscarriage and one child dead in infancy from disease. In a world, though, where difficulties in childbirth and childrearing are commonplace, twenty years have a dampening effect.

Instance is free for writing.

Johan, one of the Elder's assistants, will discuss the issue with any interested parties in an attempt to prevent panic or rumors. Locals are aware that this is yet another in a string of murders. Some are spreading rumors that they heard commotion near the forest's edge during the night. What your PC decides to do with this information is your call. I will update when I see the opportunity to do so or if it looks like you guys may be struggling with what to write (don't be afraid to use this thread to discuss with others in the Instance or with me).

If you feel like you want an update after your post, state so here. If that's what people prefer, I'm game for that. Like I've said a few times, this is the one aspect (the writing/story process) that'll need to be hammered out.

I didn't state this in the rules (I will when I remember to): All writing is third-person past-tense. There are no word limits to your posts, but if you want an update and you write fifty words, I may make this face: -_-

For sure. I think that with the village being fairly small anyway, everyone would at least be familiar with each other by at least reputation to start out with. And yeah, it makes sense that these two in particular would have a lot of contact.

Someone asked me to clarify this (I'll add it to the information thread later). If you're curious as to the level of technological advancement of human society, just think of the Middle Ages (if you haven't already). Larger cities are more advanced (pre-gunpowder 1300s France/England) than smaller cities (like Eisenhardt), which are closer to early Middle Ages (eleventh century).
