Moves for my character
#1
Bebi, I have got to say, those are some of the coolest ideas for moves I have ever seen.

Good job. Was there any form of source material that helped inspire those, or is that just off the top of your head?

On the first two, can you in any way restrict it? I mean, paralyzing someone for an "undetermined" amount of time is a pretty powerful technique

I think the 2nd one is fine. Don't put an OOC time limit on it just note that it takes a lot to set up and a lot to recovery from. (Energy wise)

The first one is too powerful as it is though, a move that makes someone else's character unable to do anything is too powerful.

What about partial paralysis? Slowed movements, dull senses, reduced reaction time. That sort of thing. That way they'd still have control but you've made them an easier target. It still should only last a few minutes, though.

I guess there isn't too much to add to what's already been said. The core ideas of the three moves are fine, but the specifics need a bit of an overhaul.

Paralysis Wave: As Koola said, this is way too powerful. In addition, anything that directly affects another person's abilities/movement/reactions/etc. should have a pretty hefty ki drain. In addition, the effectiveness of the attack would probably depend upon the strength of the target: the stronger the target, the less effective the attack. Koola had a couple of great suggestions for making it less powerful. Heck, you could even say that it could effect whatever you wanted at the time of the attack. If you wanted to use it slow one opponent, and then dull the sense of someone else, that would be fine.

Null Zone Containement Wave: I liked this one. Properly balanced, has plenty of practical applications. Just take away the IC time references. If it lasts for "a while" that's fine. And being able to use it "once per day" may sound like a good way of balancing it, but you can jump weeks in a single sentence.

Energy Tap: No real comments. Sounds fine.

Like I said, nothing that hasn't really been said. I'm just backing what's already been laid on the table. If you want to know what we're looking for as far as balance and power goes, just check out the Technique Vault. Everything in there has been approved by the staff already.

Why don't you make the changes to the Null Zone.

After that, I'll add this to the Technique Vault.
