Isn't ranked for tryharding? Isn't that why there's a ranked mode?

Even if we make the argument that "It's just normals", clearly there are people who try hard and those who don't and it ends up with people bitching about champion picks, etc. We need to clearly define when you get to bitch at your teammates for sucking and when you don't. I don't want to play support Soraka if you're going to feed and suck as an AD carry because it's a waste of my time. But if from the get go you are going to be like, eh I'm not that great as AD Carry or I'm drunk. Then I'm going to have fun and play Support Veigar or Roaming Eve to make the most of the game time.

Or just ban the Troll at first ban in draft mode and just troll the game<_< >_> And get bitched at for sucking that way lol

I actually really like using the game modes to distinguish.
Also, I understand not wanting to, like, start shit, but it's way more helpful if people get named if they're making people unhappy in a game. For all I know, Jarka and Vad could be talking about me and I genuinely have no idea whether or not they are. So my assumption is that they're not or they would have said something so I continue behaving normally which is what was making them feel bad and the cycle perpetuates. ![]() "It's on my brain, driving me insane. I'm obviously making everyone mad, even when I have the game uninstalled.

Eh. It's not a recurring theme, but I've been excluded by Tryg and Kaden before. I liked playing with them, but it made me feel that I wasn't good enough to play with them at all. Even though I was willing to follow advice and correct problems.
Krig. You just come off like an asshole sometimes. Turk does, but he then follows up with "I love you Zulenka." So I know he's kidding most of the time. I wasn't your typical player. Tryg and Kaden nailed ward placement into me. What did I start doing? I started buying wards and placing them strategically. PvP is on my resume of game talents, but I felt like you guys weren't willing to help get me up to snuff. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Well, regardless of the way we manage 'this is serious/fun game' decisions or whatever, I think people need to be wayyyyy less agressive with how they call people out on things. Especially in-game.
The last thing I want to hear when I am playing with people is two people bitching at each other for 3 min about something that happened, instead of concentrating on the game and worrying about the alleged fuckup later. It distracts the other 3 people in the game, fills up mumble so no-one else can talk, and the two of you just end up getting pissed off and tilting. It's bloody annoying. And just being rude and agressive in the way you try and critique someone's play is likewise the dumbest way to go about it. Okay, done. [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
This lil' thing is thanks to Jarka!

I didn't know that I've ever made anyone feel excluded or unwanted (except for Weemus for a while because of attitude that, though that changed and now I have no issue with him), so sorry if I've made anyone feel that way.
However, I almost always enter into games in "tryhard" mode, because I'm always trying to increase my skill. That's why I've been trying other roles instead of just jungle. Even in ARAM's and such I'm trying to work on things that can carry over into 5s and ranked: initiations, last hitting, when to defend and when to retreat, proper focusing of targets and such. Even in "fun games", I don't see why not focus on stuff like that, but that's me. This below is directed at no one in particular, just my view on this situation as a whole Also, as to team comps and other stuff, if you are queue'd with 3-4 other people, I'm sorry, but your fun doesn't out weigh their's. If they aren't wanting to dick around while you do something silly that might be fun for you to do but lowers the chances of winning if that's what they are wanting to do (first win of the day), then don't do it that game. Ask if you can do it after the FWOTD or go do it in a bot game or something. I'll say this again because it's important, one person's enjoyment does not out weigh three to four other people's. If what you want to do isn't in line with what they want, don't play with them that game. Also, I can say that almost all of the time any comments I've made have been with the intention of it being constructive criticism, and I drop it after that. If it's been taken as something else, sorry, but I've been told by too many people to feel free to offer constructive criticism, so it's hard for me to stop, and I try to do so without it sounding condescending or as if I'm raging. ------ That turned out different than I thought it would when I started typing that...
While I usually approach games with exactly the mindset Tryg talked about -- I'd honestly rather feel like I'm improving than having fun (and I'll happily do both, don't get me wrong) -- I wanted to emphasize something.
Trygelan Wrote:I've been told by too many people to feel free to offer constructive criticism That's been said a lot and I think it's a good way to approach the game. If people are crossing that line from "constructive" to "jackass," then call them out on that. It helps everyone see where that line actually is (since it can change from person to person). It may seem confrontational, which isn't always the most comfortable thing in the world, but look at it as giving constructive criticism of their constructive criticism (can we go deeper?). ![]() "It's on my brain, driving me insane. I feel like while there should be a distinction between playing for fun and try-harding, getting criticism is still inherently helpful in a playing for fun games. Sometimes, just missing on one command could mean missing a huge advantage and when I see that I tend to point it out. If Jarka isn't utilizing Trist's full jump range, I tell her to "lead on the jump more" or when Josh messes up his ball I tell him how he should've played it. Even if you're just playing to have fun, it shouldn't mean you're closed off to improving your own gameplay, many of the constructive criticism I give are tips on mechanics and fundamentals anyway.
