Before long I am just going to snatch the Baton and run the course, despite only scoring 5K instead of 10K. Question though, if I name someone else to give the baton to, and they complete the course perfectly, will they score 10K or only 5K because Android 17 was next in line? Would everyone who completes the course before 17, even though they have been passed the baton, only gain 5K?

If someone that you do NOT name takes the baton, you only get 5k. But they can still get the 10k if they correctly name someone who goes after them. So if someone goes without being named, they are effectively lessening the value of the person's efforts before them.
