The RIOT Act
Vad Wrote:I find it really difficult to believe that you can go from telling other teammates that "Dominion is fun when you don't take it seriously" to being a complete dick, taking it seriously, and bitching at us. I was winging Nocturne. I was winging Fiddle Sticks. If you don't want me to wing it tell me before I start playing with you.

Winging it is coo'. I give no shits. It's just frustrating watching you (and our other two pugs) getting blown up over and over again by magic damage and not buying a single resist.

It's been talked about ad infinitum, but the refusal to surrender clearly lost games still pisses me off.

EDIT: If the team does not surrender what I gauge as a dead-lost game, I will ask for the plan: how we move forward, who we focus, how our team should integrate. If I get no answer at all to that, I will be very fucking pissed. You're essentially wasting my time.

Weemus, I will be completely blunt and say that you have been extremely negative during games for the past few days, giving everybody a constant running commentary of just how terrible a particular situation is. As I've said before, it causes people to play worse when you criticize them aggressively (and, often, unnecessarily as they are generally aware of the fact that losing towers = bad and don't need you to rant about it for the next thirty seconds).

People play this game to win, yes, but the main reason is they play is to have fun. When you take that away from them by making the experience miserable for everybody else when they make a mistake or have an off game, they may make the experience miserable for you out of spite by refusing to surrender a clearly lost game.

Yeah, because THAT'll defuse the situation.

I've taken to muting myself when I notice I'm getting frustrated. I've found that to be effective.

EDIT: When it comes to some of the criticisms (let the jungler know before you recall if your lane opponent will otherwise get free damage on turret, buy resists if you're getting fucked by one specific enemy, cover your AD carry if you're the CC-tank and aren't initiating), it stems from having to repeat the same stuff over and over. Gets old. Especially when we lose game after game after game because of these entry-level things.

Especially when there's absolutely no confirmation from the person who made the mistake that they recognize the mistake. No justification. Just dead silence. ESPECIALLY when they make the same mistake teamfight-after-teamfight, or game after game.

As for the 'for fun' portion, I thought we'd already well-established that, unless otherwise indicated, it should be assumed that we are playing to win.

EDIT2: I'm aware I stand no chance of 'winning' this argument. I'm the aggressor and criticizing the aggressor is the safest thing you can do.

Defusing the situation is impossible with you so we choose to ignore you. At least I do. I understand my mistakes and where I make them. Just because I'm not responding to you doesn't inherently mean I'm not aware of them.

Well. Ok.

For some perspective: I tend to be surprised when people tell me that I'm making their entire game experience negative. Quicker feedback about it might mute the spikes in this 'weemus-rage' cycle (ragey for a week, then there's a blow-up in the RIOT thread and I get pissy but then not quite as bad for awhile, then ragey again sometime after).

Definitely no reason it should just sit for a few days without any callout. Callouts are what fix it.

Nine times out of ten I like playing games even when I'm losing, unless the score is literally zero to fifty by 20 minutes or my team has one or more afk/trolls/blatant 'feeders.'

That's probably just me, though.

I find it more fun in fact to pull an epic comeback. Even when the score is 0-50, I still find spots to try and improve my mechanics and stuff like last hitting and warding/ward hunting. When I treat games that way, I find that I sometimes actually do end up pulling off a great comeback or advance my overall skill in some way.

The biggest blaring annoyance with your cycle is that your frustration trumps everyone else. No matter what. Consciously or not in the heat of the moment you shut off your mind and you can't be wrong. Coming in at a close second is that you even have a cycle to begin with. We all get frustrated and we all make mistakes, but this is what the PvP world is about. At some point you need to realize that losing is going to happen in great quantities. Some of us have had years of PvP experience losing and winning. It all affects us differently. It has a really annoying effect on you and while I may loathe you for it sometimes I was there once albeit 6 or 7 years ago.

LoL compounds the annoyances of PvP because Summoner's Rift restricts what the player, as a person, can do to recover the game. There is a very defined line where recovery and "come backs" will not happen. The fact that said line even exists drives us to work harder to reduce the amount of mistakes we make. Dominion is irrelevant to this discussion however. It is a straight Arathi Basin/Alterac Valley rip so it's mechanic allows for extreme late game come backs if you manage to shut down the enemy team and take all or most of the points. Little to no excuse for frustration there. Just accept the loss and move on.

My suggestion to you Chris is to either train yourself to go down with your team in a game you deem unwinnable or don't play Summoner's Rift. At all.

I've actually felt kind of the opposite of Weemus. We had a bad streak with Chubbsians the other day and folks were pretty good about surrendering when we got whipped in all 4 arenas. It was nice. Not the getting whipped, but the not getting dragged though it for another half hour for no reason was great.

You are correct, I should have spoken up a bit sooner. I apologize and will let you know when you're starting to get out of hand in the future. Of course, anytime my attitude is out of hand, you may call me on it as well.

I think I'm done with this game. It isn't because of anything anyone's done here on Chubbs; I just can't handle spending so much time in games where a victory can be decided in 10-20 minutes and there's no telling when the game will end. And then it happens again. And again.

The good moments are just too widely spread for me to enjoy the game anymore.

I know what you mean Orion. Some nights definitely feel like that. Last night felt like that. Those nights ARE pretty damn rare though. They feel like fucking obelisks when they happen, but the good nights (which really, are any non-obelisk night) are pretty damn common.

I agree.

I much prefer to surrender and move on to the next opportunity. Usually, I'll also take a few minutes to talk about what I think went wrong, overall, in the last game.

Fucking hour long game where I had 4k extra gold just sitting there(even after buying all those elixirs you can buy after you respawn)

We were winning for a while too... till TF decided to AFK for like 10-15 minutes. In fact we could have won had it not been for that.... just bugs the shit out of me

Teamfight in mid during what had been a pretty irritating game for me.

As Vayne, I see a super low non-tank. R-Q and kill them.
Another low champ. EQ and they're dead for a double.
Attack attack Q and a triple.
Q and a quadra.
Fifth champ is in a Ryze cage, super low. E is in the air -

AND TALES TAKES IT.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I've never been so close to a pentakill ever. Sad

Don't worry Jarka, I was spamming stuff as Ryze as well to steal it. Have the stream recording to prove it too. I wanted that kill.

I told Tales to steal it. You can thank me later.
