I figured that Vad's power was a "turn a guy into mafia" power and that Kaden was the one he turned. I had typed it out several times, but I didn't want to be called out for whatever bullshit excuse Kaden would have had prepared, so I instead opted to refrain from suggesting that and just remain silent. No really, I'm not bullshitting. Whatever, you guys won't believe me.

Bitch all you want, but I wanted to live this game. I am one of the few active people this game always has, and I'm tired of seeing it run itself into the ground the moment I kick the bucket. Besides, at the start of the game, mafia basically just take shots in the dark. I mean really. Blue? Maruset? How the fuck was I supposed to know they'd kill them?

Also, about time my side won.

The game is definitely more fun when people are active and trying. I almost didn't kill Ashe simply because he was being active. I literally flipped a coin between him and 17.

Part of the reason I chose to kill off the more inactive people was definitely 'let them fight among themselves' strategy, but also, while killing off the active people is undoubtedly more effective in the long-term, it's just lame. If I do run the next game, I'm probably going to be a little more ruthless about activity in terms of "if you don't think you can post at least once a day, don't join". Less people, more active, is better IMO. It may be shorter, but multiple short, fun games is much better than dragged out games where the first half of the game is culling the inactives.

Also, sorry to kill you first again, Blue. I wanted to fade into the shadows a bit this game and particularly not become obvious by using a similar kind of strategy as I used last time, so I let Vad have first pick (and it'd be weird for me to pick the same guy again twice in a row, so it was sort of a point against me being mafia kinda). You're a cool mafia player so I kinda wanted to leave you in D= ... but mafia is mafia.

Rose was right about Vad misusing his Jynx power. If he had taken me, the mafia would have won instantly. There would have been no way to kill me.

That segues nicely into a rant on game balance. Tentacruel was broken as fuck. I was hands down the most powerful role in the game, which the potential to let the game drag out indefinitely, if I correctly guessed who would die each phase. Never make something as broken as Tentacruel ever again.

Vad's ability only activated when I die, so I was completely cool with getting lynched because I was like "yer the game is ours now, we've stalled long enough" as long as I died before Vad. His ability was ridiculously powerful and could have won the game easily at that point, considering we'd gotten to Day 4 with no lynches.

Hey Rose, I know you called next, but I think it would do Chubbs some good to have a breather game about now. And by that I mean a game with no gimmicks and fancy tricks and powers.

Maybe I can host a classic Mafia round, then you follow up with your Legend of Mafia? Just a suggestion since you called next.

Whatever folks want. I don't plan my game to be quite as gimmicky as Mal's, but I don't have everything in stone yet. If people want another vanilla game (or if people don't, and someone who hasn't run a game yet has a cool idea they want to try), I'm happy to let someone else have host.

Hopefully I keep this short and concise (never).

I want to be clear that any comments, rants, and ability uses or lack thereof were 100% intended. When I bitched about activity, I meant it. Its severely frustrating when people join a game and don't play, because it wrecks the balance of abilities in what are already very questionable balances as is. It goes as far as directly interfering with how the game runs.

Whenever I wanted to use my vote buff, I sent a PM. When I chose not to, I did not. I want to be clear that I did not forget to send it (and I understand no one has stated such) but did not want it to be something that was more or less a constant necessity. That said, those decisions had zero practical effect on what outcomes happened but could have (if I wanted to evolve and someone voted me, I was not going to use my power in case someone threw a last minute vote down assuming I was using it so they could bump the vote to 4, which meant that until the last minute, I could assess the situation).

Interestingly, I speculated (and think I posted as much) about how, as unreadable as everything was at that point, I thought it was possible that someone who wasn't mafia previously had become mafia (through whatever means). When I was killed, I figured that was precisely the thought process that had been the downfall. I also considered Kaden as that person given that when he is mafia, there's a tendency for me to be killed quickly (and I don't blame him, because I've done the same to him. If I evolved, I very strongly would have considered killing him just to be certain, even at risk). You son of a bitch. <3

Regarding the game itself, yeah, imbalances and missed interactions WILL happen and no one is clairvoyant enough to prevent all things broken while still taking risks. This is something that was made extremely clear to me by the guys that make Magic: the Gathering, actually, in articles where they showed time and time again that they could either play it safe and boring with no risk, or take risks and make wild, fun experiences that occasionally require some later re-evaluation and possible bannings for impeding such environments. I like this and its how I've run all of my LoM games, which for the most part I feel has turned out rather positively. So even with the outcome of this game, it doesn't bother me at all. The most important aspect is that all of the abilities contributed to what proved to be a very fun game (even with elements that could be tweaked) and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely participate again when able and appreciate Mal running this.

Regarding me "hating you", yeah, when it comes to my games, I want to break all of your fingers (in the most "I'm frustrated but don't actually hate you despite you driving me fucking crazy" tone possible). Its actually the exact reason why I didn't respond to that final PM after I died and didn't PM you at all unless I chose to use my ability that night. I don't want to cause an already hard to keep organized game to get more unorganized due to cluttering up someone's PM box with unnecessary messages.

I do want to state that I was immediately suspicious of Rose's ability the moment I got that PM, despite nothing being put in it. I actually believe I stated such in the PM, and later posted as much publicly. I think that is due to the nature of the ability, since (while this has been the opposite case in your games, I later gathered) in my games, abilities that do such have had a history of being mafia related coercion abilities.

Oh, and I can't believe Doe didn't protect me that night that I got axed. At that point, I figured that if he was protecting anyone (since he never succeeded), he was probably using it solely on himself the entire time and making claims of doing otherwise in hopes that the mafia would then waste a night targeting him while he was using self preservation to live through the game.

I said that I had the choice between you and Kayne (which itself was based on a "I know he knows I knows he knows I knows" etc...) and I just picked wrong. Kaden even admitted that he just picked between you and Kayne through a COIN TOSS.

And your death ended up being a game changer, I think. I was still suspicious of 17 because of his ability (and the fact that he was about as helpful as an ulcer), but after you died it immediately clearly him of suspicion since it would become impossible to lynch him and still have the game go on.

So like... I totally got screwed out of my evolution, which was amazingly strong since I could stop a kill or stop myself from getting lynched once. Mal's inability to recognize song lyrics was pretty disadvantageous for my special ability and since he didn't tell me how much lyric to incorporate into my post, I mainly went for chorus's of songs I thought that EVERYONE would know.

Couple examples:

The situation right now is all too perplexing to me. Kaden, John Doe and Ashe are just as suspicious to me as the others they could just be using me as a safety net because of my former inactivity. Kaden and John Doe who always shows defiance suddenly not as much in this round. That shit cray... That shit cray.

If I were mafia, I would of course let my fellow mafia members know of my exact ability. Now I will disclose this information publicly to let you know why that isn't one of the possible motives. My pokemon ability involves abruptly ending either a day phase or night phase which means I could have used this ability to save my life had those two not voted for me. They also didn't need to shed light upon themselves by voting for me if I did decide to use my ability on day 2. At the end of the day, we gon' do what we came to do... ain't that right?

I do have suspicions of John Doe and Kaden mainly because of the way they behave in previous games and now. Shits getting confusin, but that's mafia for ya, you never can tell. :/

Dunno, if my evolution had happened, I could have potentially saved myself on Day 4 before the mafia targeted my ass. But seeing that it was a one time use, it would've been kinda meh anyway... Oh well, this is just to retaliate Mal saying I didn't follow the rules.
