(Steam) Sales You Should Know About
#21
I read your post about the Mirror's Edge discount while at work, a few hours after you'd posted it. I looked at the clock. Six hours to go. =(

Jarka Wrote:Pretty sure I've told you before that my favorite customers are Australians... they just shit their pants at the price of everything in the store. They also usually leave with quite literally an armload of games and a new computer/console.

It really is a shame that they price spike you guys so much. It's not even like there's language localization considering you speak English (unless they add in "G'day!" and "Crikey!" into all the dialogue lolololol).

Don't remember that, but it's not like we've had a proper conversation in ages so that's probably why! Tongue

In the case of physical copies of games, there are some reasonable expanations for a price rise, but not the 40ish dollars we usually see, frankly. But on steam? Yeah fuck off, jeez.

Just saw this... "Dear Esther" game... I'm having a hard time not buying it on the spot for $10. This game looks beautiful, but curious what any reviews might be.

EDIT: Also, this "Fallen Earth" seems pretty interesting for a Free Game, understanding that its likely actually "Pay2Cheat", but not sure.

I wish I'd caught this in time. I keep planning to pick it up on a sale sometime.

Dear Esther is incredible. Well worth the 10bux if you are into games that aren't quite games.

I would totally buy the occasional Australian version if this was true

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is on sale for $5. Extremely fun and classy game hampered by rather significant bugs. Definitely worth playing though.

3rding the recommendation. There's unofficial patches from some very dedicated modders that fix most of the bugginess. Last I checked there were two, one which was purely for bugs, another which tried to rebalance the game somewhat too (I used the latter). Very fun though, it's reminiscent of Deus Ex in terms of a really neat story/world combined with sweet RPG elements and character choice (playing the game through as a different type of vampire completely changes things; for one class it actually changes a shitton of dialogue options and story elements to reflect your vampire's insanity, which is recommended for a second/third playthrough. Another is super mutated so you have to move through the sewers to avoid freaking out humans, etc).

All the Deus Ex games are 75% off. I was super happy when I bought a bunch of Deus Ex stuff 2 days ago for 50% off D= But if you don't own them, now's a good time.

A bunch of games are on sale on Steam/Play/Desura/iStore because these stores allow the developers to set their own prices. A few days left to pick up some cheapies for your mobile or PC (and they have one or two XBOX games, too).

It looks like they keep adding more, so if you've already taken a look, stop by again.

If life gives you lemons, hand them to me!

Damn. Could not have come at a worse time for me, but that video was hilarious.
