Driving Stick

Hey guys. I've come back to Chubbs, like I always do for these reasons: for my love of writing, science-fantasy, character interaction, and for the rich OOC community. Being apart of something like CDBZ has always been a soft therapy for me and past addiction aside (in my teens), it has been beneficial for my writer's craft and continued education.

In the RPG's current state, there are a lot of game system roadblocks preventing potential activity. I don't want to beat a dead horse. Life happens (especially to me, far too often than not which is why I don't have time to do this too often) and I don't expect the mod/player base to spontaneously energize just because I have a timely desire to put my pen to paper.

What I would like to do, is act as a free man. Years either lurking or active at CDBZ have educated me in it's ways. All I am asking for, are the keys to drive a story (and co-operate with the willing) inside these forum walls. I have a learned grasp on the rules, the atmosphere, and the limitations that make up the gaming experience here. I'd like to propose and initiate Ghost Modding. That is creative license for responsible parties to account for mod updates (besides grading) without supervision and outside of the system - until activity resumes, or the board dies, or I fizzle out (far more likely).

I'm willing to do this with the possibility that all progress may be moot after the fact, or (ideally) be accounted for and judged retroactively to determine competitive status if we ever have active fights or sagas again.

Of course, I am free to do this in Microsoft Word in my own time but for me, a big part of the fun at Chubbs (ironically too, the catalyst of inactivity) was the commitment. Grinding at that post, engaging parts of your brain that were normally asleep (or SHOULD have been, anyway) made it worthwhile and exciting when you saw the Earth forum change color because your new post was live.

I'm incredibly thankful for the chapters of my life that were written in small doses here and I just want to give back in the only way I know how: by writing at Chubbs, just because.

What say you revered Chubbs deities? *provides Waffle offering*

No. You have full permission to write and do what you will (as in, you have my permission to start writing now; character accepted and I'll bug Vad to update you again), but you may not fiddle with stats.

Fair enough! Yeah the genuine suggestion for the ghost modding idea was more about tasks that require management but not staff opinion I.e. getting to a planet or shop buys, and listed technique buys (like Flight) with the appropriate posts made..

Ultimately, I just wanted to start writing though so Mission Accomplished. Didn't want to go around PMing staff, but I guess this was tad more pesty?

Regardless, thank you.

Oh. Yeah, in that case, I'd give it a 48 hour rule (for minor things). For all purchases under 1500 Zeni, if we don't update it within 48 hours, it's free.

If anything's getting in your way for writing, PM me; I don't do updates, so I don't know the process for most of it, but I'll get rid of the hurdles one way or another.

Okay, great. I appreciate the help, & I will try to engage new members that come along (we get those, right?) to do my part.
