I thought the controversy was completely called for. Regardless of whether or not there was any actual collusion in throwing the match, the players have to take the esport seriously if anyone else is going to take it seriously.

Yes, that was an isolated incident, but it doesn't take many.

Sadly, 270 gold won't make a difference to Last Whisper. Armor pen is still going to be just as ridiculous.

Ryze is actually getting a buff. Yeah, he lost some damage on his Q (.05% of max mana) but it just went straight onto his Rune Prison. The longer cool down on W will mean it's not as much overall damage, but his Q>W>Q>E>Q combo didn't actually lose that much. Moreover, the reduced cost of his Q means more lane spam (because he needed that, really) and that he'll keep higher amounts of current mana while Muramana is active. Also, in the event that someone was building AP instead of Muramana, the E gained some AP ratio (which is actually more damage than the .05% would indicate, since it bounces and reduces MR).

Out of curiousity, does anyone know if the splash damage from his E reduces MR in an AoE when his ultimate is active?

He looks kinda boring to me. 3 of his moves are grabs of varying ranges and he has a shitty version of Veigar's playpen. So, the only thing worth knowing at that point is the damage he does.

Edit: I didn't realize they swapped in a friendly annie for the lantern toss thing. Coolish utility there.

some of that is cool, but it looks like that's about all there is to him aside from his passive. I dunno, no new champ has been interesting to me in a long time I guess, hence my dwindling playtime lately.

All the new champs have been super focused like that, though. They design a kit to do one thing. The fact they're releasing a champ that has multiple displacement abilities is pretty crazy, to me. That's an insanely powerful thing to be able to do. Really looking forward to seeing what kind of impact he has (it will probably be in bot lane, since he seems to be built for supporting).

It's 1 HP/5. That doesn't even count as a buff. The only less meaningful thing they could have given her is MP/5.

Somewhat, but with his stats and passive, people are talking bruiser top also.

So, to put things in perspective, the previous patch she was taken from 10 HP/5 to 5 HP/5. This is still a nerf from where she was going into season 3. Yeah, she's pretty strong, but this 1 point of HP/5 (or .2 HP per second) doesn't change anything.

It's the combination of cheaper AD, crazy AD ratios (including a shield), and the change to armor pen that is making her really strong. Not her base HP/5 stat.

I don't consider it a "buff" or a "nerf". I consider it a shifting state of rebalancing, currently. It does sound like I'm playing semantics, I'm sure, as yes, she is getting "a buff" from the most recent patch after "a nerf" from before, but we're essentially playing her during a state of flux. They are tweaking back and forth subtly to try to tune her as opposed to her being stable for a while and then BAM a sudden change (where no one will argue about a buff or a nerf, as it shows a decision to change the characters presence definitively as opposed to modifications that can go in both directions.)

Its also not a point I really plan to argue on, as its an opinion/perspectives point that is entirely based upon which viewpoint you use to decide your opinion of what constitutes buff/nerf.
