I got this idea from a friend of mine whilst he was talking about a story, it does not have the real effect that I want it to, yet, but as it progresses it will. This is only the beginning of chapter one. Tell me what you think, please. If I want to, I will post more as I continue it.

The Great War for Canada

Chapter 1

A sweat of exasperation ran down the man's face. The droplet collided with the edge of his face, after leaving a smooth trail along his cheek. He had been through alot over th epas years that had gone by. It seemed as though it had been a eternity, yet, it was still not over. He looked on, into the cold, vast, dark regions of the barren wasteland. How did this happen was the only thing that could come to mind. His breathing was harpish, it was startling for the sweet taste of freedom, but all it could get was the bitter taste of cold, harsh enjailment, under the country. He did not know what he would be in for when he embarked on the mission, but, if he did not follow through with this, the country might have been terminatied...

The night had been long and lustrous. There was the smell of tobacco and liquor all around the building. Men had been partying there for quite some time, they had been given leave the day and the one following it. It would seem idiotic to not use it to their full advantage.

The following morning they did not expect as a outcome. Most of them had gotten extremely intoxicated and feel into unconsciousness in the most odd of places, definitely not the norm of any place for sleep. However, some of them did mange to make it home, most likely the ones who had not consumed as much alcohol as the others, but they still felt a incrediblr banging in their head upon waking up. For one of them, the banging was, unfortunitely, multipled exponentially by the ringing of a phone. To his displeasure, he had to awaken to this, making it even worse for him, considering he could not find the phone. He had made it to sleeping quarters, but not quite did a mattress comfort his back. The ring would seem to not stop, he would neet to find the telecommunications device, so that he may relieve his mind of the excuriating pain.

While searching the distressed room in a slouch, he tripped over a wire. Slowly he fell to the ground, seemingly he did not relie that he was going to make impact with the ground. It would be a long fall seing as he surely exceeded 6 feet in height. Upon the falling, the ringing continued, like a beating drum in his head. It had intesnified greatly by this time and was starting to become irritating beyond recognition. When he landed on the carpeted floor, he seemed not to be in much pain, since he was not expressing it in any real form. The pain in his head was all that he could feel at the moment, but he would surely feel it in the latter of the day.

When he had enough strength to open his eyes, he could see it; the cause of all his current troubles. His eyes began to widen, but he was not able to open them fully, but at the rate for which he did so, it was apparent he was excited at the item in front of him. His large, bulky hand slowly reached for the receiver--almost snail-like in its speed. Eventually, though, he reached the handle of the inaniment object and rested his hand there for a mere second. In that second in rang once again, now it seemed louder than ever, due to his being up close to it. He immediately grasped it tightly in his fingers and opposable appendage. It lifted up into the air and he began to bring it to his ear. Once it was snuggly against his lobe, the otehr end of the receiver almost met with his mouth, but a inch or two apart from it.

"Hello..." came the voice of the man lying on the floor, semi-conscious. His tone was slightly low, the part of him that wanted to fall back into dreamland was taking over, but it would soon lose.

"Captain, you sound as if you've been steam-rolled for the past ten hours!" was the booming sound on the other end of the line. The sheer volume of the man made the officer's eyes twitch. The pain that the sound had inflicted was great, but it brught him closer to attention.

"Colonol?" came the inquisitive voice of the follower. The sound that seemed to be his commanding officer was a bit startling, especially when the man had gave him leave. "Is that you?" another question escaped his lips, he couldn't even feel the throbbing in his head anymore, his mind was wrapped around on trying to figure what exactly the man had called for.

"Yes, it is me. I need you over at the base, as soon as posible. Got that, Captain?" The man spoke in a speed with his words that did not increase or decrease, it was almost robotic. After the command over the telephone, the man of the uniform made a gulping sound in his throat that could almost be heard by the man on the other end of the city.

The lower clothed man began his reply after forcing back his shock of the sudden emergency, "Yes, sir. I'll be over there as soon as I can possible get there." After he finished the sentence, his head began to become clear and he figured that he should ask a question before setting off. "May I ju-" the Captain started before the highly decorated Colonol hung up his receiver, ending the conversation. The lower rank of officer moved his hand to hang the phone up. Once the receiver was in its place, the man moved his hands towards his face.

The hands cupped his face as he let his head fall toward the ground. He let out a small groan as he could feel the pain coming back. Why of all days did he have to be called back from a leave early? The man could not process a answer due to his head not being able to so anything at the moment, only feel the throbbing. It would need to be able to comprehend the tasks that he needed to do before he could head to the base, for, he needed to get there as soon as possible, so it would be a good idea to start soon.

What concept, this thing won't get strated 'til the second or third chapter really(chapters are how long I make them >_>). Plus, even though it is Canada, it will be controversial(sort of) and funny(in my opinion).

True, Canada would not play a big war factor in many scenarios. In one where it would would be if the Axis won WWII. Canada would play an important role in a attempt of a German invasion since Canada is militarily relativly weak and has got lots of natural barriers to protect the attackers from a counter-attack. I would have said more on the matter, but im not sure if "what-if?" historical topics are allowed. Also I dont wanna ruin this thread for HF17.

Anyway.....I liked it. Its written preety good.

Canada isn't relatively militarily weak, it's very much so.
Snowball arsenals make up for that though.

Hey! Just because our helicopters can't fly doesn't mean- oh. Crap. Sad
