NEW Quest System
#1
We'll be utilizing a new quest system here on Chubbs. Its real simple and real easy. You write something, post that your quest has been completed here and then a staff member grades and rewards you.

No more hoping there's a quest open on the planet you're on. No more worrying about someone else already having finished a quest. No more RPing for "no reason."

There are a couple of guidelines, however. The quest must have a minimum of five posts, if being done by a single person, or a minimum of three posts per-person if more than one person is participating. For the sake of simplicity, try to keep the quest in one thread. If you have completed a quest with multiple people, only one person needs to submit a grading post. Please don't get upset if a reward isn't what you were expecting. Rewards will be limited to zeni and TP only, as they are now.

This is not a retroactive change. Posts you have made before this will not count as quests. If you're already participating in a quest, you will still be rewarded upon completion.

Hope you all enjoy. If you have any questions, please ask them here.

If this is not set in stone:

I like the idea of mini-sagas with rules, etc. What you are basically saying is, if I still want to do that, I would have to write them out, along with the description of the quest, and make it public? Isn't that what we already do now? O_o

1) Can we at least still contribute to an existing set of pre-determined quests, as well as do them?

2) I like the idea of quests being an 'assignment'. We could at least make a questing system where people seek out an NPC (who has an accompanying description in the information vault), and receive a mission/job/quest. Kind of like the GUILD SYSTEM WE HAD. <3

If this is set in stone: wtf, ok.

No, you don't need to write up a quest description like we already have. Just RP like you would anyway. When you've hit a "finishing" point in your writing, post that you've completed a quest.

Staff written quests will still be available to people if they want them. Alternatively, you can simply make an NPC "contact" for your character to get quests.

Guilds were awesome. Most people thought so. And no one used them.

Yeah, it was kind of weird how that worked out.

I'll try this new system, even though I don't like it. So can you at least tell me how I can follow this suggestion and still keep the quests coming from an outside source, while still being relevant to my character and the NPC? If I have to do all that myself, it's like I'm just doing one big ass storyline that never ends, instead of a job for someone. I like the concept of doing a job for someone; it's what I base Bojack around, he does shiz for peepz.

Seems to me like this is just an around the bush way to award people for personal roleplays.

On that note, this is pretty cool

You understand that the quest could be you RPing Bojack doing a job for someone, right? Just because its your own, doesn't mean it has to be about Bojack walking around and running errands.

If you can't come up with an idea for a job on your own, ask a staff member. We'll give you an idea to get started.

i like this.

wouldn't you want to add "training for a technique doesn't count towards a quest"?

I actually left that out on purpose, because I wasn't sure how I wanted to address that issue.

How would something like this work now:

I'd actually love to be able to do a quest where I'm training for a technique, that's just me though. Anyway I'm digging the idea of doing your own quests and what not.

It's kinda important to note that, as I understand it, the system isn't being changed per se, but added on to. There will still be a list of Quests in some fashion, but members will now have the freedom to just make our own and bypass that process entirely.

Can people still make/contribute quests if they want?

I love the old style of quests, but I totally LOVE being able to rp about what ever I want and still getting a reward. This makes me want to get active again Big Grin

I'd imagine Staff would prefer that.
