I don't know why people read MMO forums.

When I played WoW I would sometimes look at the forums but I quickly learned it was a bad idea since it only took about 5 minutes of exposure until I started feeling irritated. The amount of passive-aggressive drama that happens on those places is absurd. It's horrible to watch people get caught up with completely pointless arguments that span pages.

See, my problem is that my friends want to play Order, due to the imbalance of Order/Destruction populations.

I, however, am just entirely in love with all three races on Destro and feel drawn by the flavor of their classes. I'm more drawn in by the Magus than the Engineer for example, by the flavor even if they are practically the same class.

This. If you want to find tanks without shields, DPS healers and so on, choose Destro.

I chose it anyway for the reasons Reijin gave. For me it's the greenskins, there's no way I was gonna play and not have one.

The good news is that if you have even an iota of skill, you'll be practically lauded as a hero. I loved running in as my Chosen on Nordenwatch and getting 4-6 idiots chasing me and ignoring the objective completely whilst my allies captured the fortress.

There are definitely almost as many idiots on the Order side, but Dest has a slight edge since it's more evil and its elves wear less.

Playing a Witch Elf, I can honestly say the complete lack of clothing actually annoys me. A bit, at least. It would be way worse if there wasn't actual lore to back up that particular decision.

I look at the male Witchunter and get jealous. He looks like a total badass. Reminds me of Vampire Hunter D or something.

Anyway, point is... well... I don't have a point. I read Supe's last sentence and wanted to reply. So there.

The one thing which really makes me want to play Order is the Witch Hunter. They're basically Roland from the Dark Tower. The most badass person ever. He gets a range on his finishers too, which is good if you're snared, and the Witch Elf doesn't.

I'm actually planning on rolling a Witch Elf as my next character (I've got a level 12 Shaman and an 11 Chosen right now) since I have no Dark Elves and I looooooved my Rogue in WoW. I like to specialise in stealth/backstabbing, because you can fight upfront as any other class.

The Stealth is kind of terrible in PvE. I've NEVER gotten off one of my 'openers' against a PvE target, but it's plenty easy to sneak up on someone with low Initiative and shiv them in the back.

Witch Elves are beasts.

I'm thinking I'm about to roll a Shaman to play with some friends on Dark Crag. Too interesting, and I'll hit Magus as my backup, and resort to Sorceress in the end since I know I enjoy that one. I'm still unsure if I enjoy the WE or not.

On a side note, I made a Shaman sometime yesterday. Its now level 10 and I think I have found what is a mix of being overpowered as shit in 1v1 and fun as hell at the same time. I had a group of 3 equal levels trying to fuck with me tonight and I kept burning them down one by one (huge free heal off morale, wtf) and finally they called in a 21 Witch Hunter who followed me around for the rest of the PQ (it was the one in the Shaman area where its that fight between factions, like a competitive PQ).

Anyways, I'm enjoying it a lot more than my WE, and to be honest, playing on an Open RVR server isn't that bad. Unlike WoW, for one I don't mind ganking/getting ganked. It feels entirely different, and there isn't this corpse camp bullshit.

I did have a pair of higher level (not too high or they'd get turned into chickens) guys jump onto one of our houses in town and camp the Healer for people spawning, but we eventually rid them out, and I had a blast while doing it. It just took a while, but was worth the change in plans (getting XP for killing players? You'd be amazed what it changes). It was funny though, the town they did it in just HAPPENED to not have working artillery. Yeah, it had the weapons there, but I couldn't actually use them. No, I had to use the ones on the town just up the hill, and they were just barely out of sight from that.

Haven't had a chance to play a Shaman yet. Played a Zealot and DoK to 10. Very different healing classes, but both effective as Hell. The whole Gork/Mork mechanic intrigues me on Shamans.

And, of course, there's the thing where a single competent healer can win games.

Due to the way the deaths happen though, "getting ganked" isn't that painful, as you usually just get warped back, go "Dammit" and turn in your quests and move on to a different around. They have no corpse to watch, so they have no reason to hang around. If they are in your PQ, just move on and come back later. Half the PQs seem empty anyways at times.

I actually gank anytime I see a target on this, because I get points on my kills towards the Enemy Players quests for doing it. Its me leveling and competing, which feels totally different. Being PVP based, it feels more like killing someone in Counterstrike and less like griefing someone who just wants to finish their quest up. You are both getting xp and rp for fighting anyways.

And I like seeing everyone complain that Bright Wizards and Sorcerers are op, and yet Bright Wizards just can't solo my Shaman =D Its like a mix of lock style attacks and resto druid style healing.

EDIT: I'd be willing to reroll and play a bit with people on that server as well, and pass down loot I get in the scenarios. Erin just rerolled on the server on a new Sorceress after hitting 10 on her old one, though she's on my account so we both can't play at once.

I'm still wanting to try quite a few classes. To be honest, damn near all of them.

Oh, anyone that's a Shaman... type /special and let the good times roll. Imagine Brian in the episode where he's running around with his nuts on the ground. Its awesome.
