I am interested in seeing it, mind you I happen to like terrible movies like Meet the Spartans and what not, but I can't help thinking that this movie is going to bomb horribly.
srsly.
It's like "What if Dragonball took place in 2008 in the setting of a large scale city, and Goku was just your average run of the mill teen."

Ahahahahahahahahahhahahaa.
So lame. Eventually someone needs to learn that it doesn't matter how bad your movie is, as long as it has giant motherfucking epic things happening, it doesn't matter.
Look at the original DBZ. Did I care that some of their lines were horribly cheesy, or that all the characters did half the time was watch and sweat?
No, no I didn't, because at the time there was a giant motherfucking ball of energy the size of a city cleaving a swath through the clouds overhead, about to bring down the Goddamned hammer and cave in the sea floor.

This is lame as fuck. Why even base it off the DB/Z universe if you are only going to stick to the basics of every other action movie. This is Dragonball, I don't want to fucking see guns and humvees, I want to see flying and auras and orbs.
To all those that will respond with the "this is Dragonball, not Dragonball Z": go die. They could have kept that shit alltogether if that is the case. =/

Dude, chill. This is Dragonball, not DBZ.

It looks like it'll either be really good, or really bad. However, I'm still going to see it opening night.

Oh no. It'll be bad. Really bad.
I can only hope it'll be laughably bad, instead of tearfully bad.

At the end of the day, it'll make a lot of money because we're all going to see it and also because it's what we've yearned to see.

I've yearned to see a live action version of someone screaming miles down through the air and piledriving the villain into the ground so hard that the camera has to pan outward to show the entire mountain range exploding with realistic and pretty computer graphics.
That won't happen in this movie, though, from the looks of it. So, my thirst is still left unquenched.

Awesome.
But yea...not going to see it in theatres until I see the reviews. Then I'll catch it on dvd. Not the bootleg. I will not see this movie on bootleg.

This is like Edward Scissorhands dating Pamela Anderson.
Or like someone with a foot fetish dating Pamela Anderson. Maybe her feet are exceptional, but I wouldn't fucking know, because for the past 10 years or so, HER BOOBS HAVE BEEN IN THE WAY.

We didn't see Piccolo, so I am hoping that will be the part of the movie that embodies all the coolness and CGI.

i'm just going to copy/paste what i said in the last db movie thread:
BOOOOOOO
Roshi and Gohan should switch, the guy who plays Goku should be Yamcha, the character of Goku should be played by a kid, and it should all take place in some ancient mystical made-up land .

Did I see a someone holding a gun?
This has pretty much confirmed what I expected, that this movie is gonna suck balls. But I STILL wanna watch it so bad.

Just as a point of reference, the Red Ribbon Army was always using guns and tanks and shit.
I definitely agree that it shouldn't be set in our world, though.

Was Piccolo even green?
I swear to God, if Piccolo isn't green in this movie...
